Principle of Minimum Distance in Space of States as New Principle in Quantum Physics

Abstract

The mathematician Leonhard Euler (1707-1783) appears to have been a philosophical optimist having written: "Since the fabric of universe is the most perfect and is the work of the most wise Creator, nothing whatsoever take place in this universe in which some relation of maximum or minimum does not appear. Wherefore, there is absolutely no doubt that every effect in universe can be explained as satisfactory from final causes themselves the aid of the method of Maxima and Minima, as can from the effective causes". Having in mind this kind of optimism, in the papers [1-16] we introduced and investigated the possibility to construct a predictive analytic theory of the elementary particle interaction based on the principle of minimum distance in the space of quantum states (PMD-SQS). So, choosing the partial transition amplitudes as the system variational variables and the distance in the space of the quantum states as a measure of the system effectiveness, we obtained the results [1-16]. These results proved that the principle of minimum distance in space of quantum states (PMD-SQS) can be chosen as variational principle by which we can find the analytic expressions of the partial transition amplitudes. In this paper we present a description of hadron-hadron scattering via principle of minimum distance PMD-SQS when the distance in space of states is minimized with two directional constraints. Then by using the available experimental (pion-nucleon and kaon-nucleon) phase shifts we obtained not only consistent experimental tests of the PMD-SQS optimality, but also strong experimental evidences for new principles in hadronic physics such as: Principle of nonextensivity conjugation via the Riesz-Thorin relation (1/2p+1/2q=1) and a new Principle of limited uncertainty in nonextensive quantum physics.

Theoretical and experimental assessment of Einstein-Cartan theory: A comparative analysis within the USMEG-EFT framework

The Unified Standard Model with Emergent Gravity (USMEG-EFT) framework achieves Standard Model-gravity unification by treating 4D General Relativity as an effective field theory. This work presents a comparative analysis of Einstein-Cartan (EC) theory and USMEG-EFT against experimental constraints and theoretical consistency requirements, distinguishing minimal EC with algebraically determined torsion from variants in which the spin connection is an independent quantum field. The latter class includes the Faddeev-Popov quantization framework of Brandt, Frenkel, Martins-Filho and McKeon adopted in their unification proposal, and for it gravitational wave polarization measurements directly test the additional propagating degrees of freedom. General relativity's spin-2 graviton produces exactly two tensor polarizations, while EC theory with independent dynamical spin connection predicts up to six modes. LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA null tests for GW170817 favor pure tensor over pure vector and pure scalar hypotheses at Bayes factors exceeding $10^{20}{:}1$, improved to approximately $10^{26}{:}1$ with a gamma-ray-burst jet-orientation prior. Complementary matter-sector constraints from the Standard Model Extension yield $|\tilde{b}^n_\perp| < 8.4 \times 10^{-34}$ GeV, constraining background-torsion scenarios, while MICROSCOPE bounds equivalence principle violation at $η< 1.5 \times 10^{-15}$. For minimal EC theory, the four-fermion contact interaction generated upon coupling to fermions introduces non-renormalizable divergence structures at two-loop order, a case not addressed by the BRST framework established for the independent spin connection. We situate EC theory within the broader landscape of gauge gravity theories and acknowledge USMEG-EFT's limitations, including sub-Planckian validity and currently untestable distinctive predictions.

Evaluation of uncertainties in the estimates of correlated variables as the elemental-isotopic-abundances: properties of corresponding-indirect-measurement-system-specific-relationships

Isotopic-abundances of any multi-(N)-isotopic-element (E) are interdependent and therefore needed to be measured indirectly from their rather accurately-measurable (N-1) abundance-ratios. ... Even, corresponding-atomic-weight (A_E) is determined by translating the estimated-ratios into the desired-estimate via concerned-input(s)-output-system-specific-relationship (SSR). However, how good the output-estimates y_d(s) and a_E should represent their desired-true-values Y_d(s) and A_E be indicated by the respective uncertainties e_d^Y (s) and e_E^A only; i.e. correct-knowledge of even the output-uncertainties be indispensable for the desired-indirect-measurements. Usually, by assuming the lab-established-(input)-uncertainty(s) as u_m(s) to be accidental-in-nature, a measure of any-corresponding-non-correlated-variable-specific-output-uncertainty is obtained by the popular-error-propagation-law. And, any-correlated-variable as the isotopic-abundance-Y_d-specific-output-uncertainty e_d^Y is evaluated by incorporating additional-(correlation)-correction-factor(s) in the error-propagation-formula, i.e. correlation is being assumed as an output-uncertainty-governing-parameter. However, it is here clarified that: (i) the output-uncertainty e_d^Y (or even e_E^A) should, like the corresponding-output-estimate y_d (or a_E) itself, be independent of whether the isotopic-abundances are correlated; and: (ii) any output-uncertainty e should actually be the corresponding-SSR-governed-systematic-parameter, irrespective of whether the input-uncertainty(s) u_m (s) be purely-random-in-nature. That-is, like the non-correlated-variables-specific-SSRs discussed elsewhere, any isotopic-variable-specific-SSR should be bracketed with certain input(s)-to-output-variation-parameter(s) [MF]_m^d (s) which really prefix(s), for given the input-uncertainty(s) u_m (s), the corresponding-output-uncertainty ...

Yukawa coupling and one loop inflation in the light of CMB

The one loop inflation stemming from the superstring theory and associated Yukawa coupling arising from supersymmetric interactions is examined with CMB. The Yukawa coupling can exist beyond standard model particle physics sector. The tensor-to-scalar ratio of the loop inflation is found consistent with the recent CMB results for the Yukawa coupling from cosmology. The alternative constraint on the Yukawa coupling from loop inflation may play a crucial role in validating inflationary model originating from supersymmetry and string theory. The outcomes of the study may be helpful in the phenomenological realisation of string theory.
