A light SUSY dark matter after CDMS-II, LUX and LHC Higgs data

Abstract

In SUSY, a light dark matter is usually accompanied by light scalars to achieve the correct relic density, which opens new decay channels of the SM like Higgs boson. Under current experimental constraints including the latest LHC Higgs data and the dark matter relic density, we examine the status of a light neutralino dark matter in the framework of NMSSM and confront it with the direct detection results of CoGeNT, CDMS-II and LUX. We have the following observations: (i) A dark matter as light as 8 GeV is still allowed and its scattering cross section off the nucleon can be large enough to explain the CoGeNT/CDMS-II favored region; (ii) The LUX data can exclude a sizable part of the allowed parameter space, but still leaves a light dark matter viable; (iii) The SM-like Higgs boson can decay into the light dark matter pair with an invisible branching ratio reaching 30% under the current LHC Higgs data, which may be tested at the 14 TeV LHC experiment.

The Masses of Fermions in the context of the Supersymmetric $SU(3)_{C}\times SU(3)_{L}\times U(1)_{N}$ Model

We will study in details the masses spectrum of fermions of the Minimal Supersymmetric $SU(3)_{C}\times SU(3)_{L}\times U(1)_{N}$ Model. We will consider the case in which all the usual neutral scalars fields of this model obtain vacuum expectation values, in both case when we have $R$-parity conservation, respect the invariance of the quantum number, ${\cal F}\equiv B+L$, where $B$ is the baryon number while $L$ is the total lepton number, and the oppposite ones, it means $R$-parity violation. We will present numerical predictions for all the fermions of this model, we will show that all masses and mixing angles are in agreement with current experimental data.

Bridging the divide: axion searches and axino phenomenology at colliders

We discuss a phenomenological model that extends the minimal supersymmetric standard model to contain axions and their supersymmetric partner, the axino. In the supersymmetric DFSZ axion model, the axino has tree level couplings to the higgs sector. In the case where $R$-parity is conserved, collider experiments may be sensitive to displaced decays of heavier neutralino states into lighter, mostly axino states. We present a sensitivity analysis using a model in which mostly higgsino next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle states decay into a mostly axino lightest supersymmetric particle. The model is studied using Monte Carlo simulation produced using $\texttt{MadGraph}$ and estimates of experimental sensitivities to the model, including detector simulation and kinematic selections, are evaluated using the $\texttt{MadAnalysis5}$ framework. For a higgsino mass below 1 TeV, the axion decay constant below $f_{a} < 10^{11}$ GeV can be effectively probed by the Large Hadron Collider with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb$^{-1}$. This work demonstrates that supersymmetric DFSZ axion models can be studied with existing collider experiments, offering complementary sensitivity to direct-detection and astrophysical searches and paving the way for broader exploration of supersymmetric axion scenarios.

Multiplicative matching of neutral current deep-inelastic scattering processes at next-to-leading order in PYTHIA 8

We introduce a method for matching the neutral-current deep inelastic scattering process with parton showers in Pythia 8, at first order in the strong coupling. The implementation, based on the well-established multiplicative matching approach, is achieved by reweighting leading-order Born-level events and requires that the first parton-shower emission is distributed according to the real matrix-element. The method is implemented as an internal matching strategy in the Pythia 8 event generator applicable to both currently available parton-shower algorithms, the default one and Vincia. The validity of higher-order corrections is verified with comparisons against existing next-to-leading order simulations. The strategy is used to describe reduced cross-sections measured at the HERA collider, and we find better overall agreement and reduced uncertainties with the matching.
