Metric-Like Formulation Of the Spin-Three Gravity In Three Dimensions

Abstract

We provide a metric-like formulation of the spin-3 gravity in three dimensions. It is shown that the Chern-Simons formulation of the spin-3 gravity can be reformulated as a Einstein-Cartan-Sciama-Kibble theory coupled with the higher-spin matter fields. A duality-like transformation is also identified from this metric-like formulation.

The Conformal Grassmannian: A Symplectic Bi-Grassmannian for $CFT_ 4$ Correlators

We introduce a formalism for conformal field theory in four dimensions: a symplectic bi-Grassmannian representation of CFT$_4$ Wightman correlators. Working in Klein space with off-shell spinor-helicity variables, we show that correlators of $Δ= 2$ scalars and symmetric-traceless conserved currents are encoded by integrals over a pair of $n$-planes in a $2n$-dimensional symplectic vector space. These planes are constrained to be mutually symplectically orthogonal and aligned with the external kinematics. Conformal invariance, momentum conservation, and little-group covariance all follow geometrically from this structure. We derive all two- and three-point functions involving scalars, fermions, conserved currents, and stress tensors. As a non-trivial test, we show that the construction reproduces the full set of independent conformally invariant structures of $\langle JJJ\rangle$ and $\langle TTT\rangle$ in CFT$_4$. The resulting expressions are considerably more compact than their momentum-space counterparts. They also make manifest the double copy between Yang--Mills $\langle JJJ \rangle$ and Einstein-gravity $\langle TTT \rangle$. We further present a helicity-basis reformulation that makes the GL(1,R) and SL(2,R) weights of individual helicity components explicit. This basis also provides a natural starting point for a twistor-space formulation of the correlators.

Bottom-up open EFT for non-Abelian gauge theory with dynamical color environment

We develop a bottom-up open effective field theory (EFT) for non-Abelian gauge theories within the Schwinger--Keldysh formalism. Instead of integrating out the environment completely and starting from a nonlocal influence functional, we retain the slow environmental response variables explicitly and construct a local system-environment EFT. The environmental sector is described by a dynamical color-frame variable, Stückelberg-like field, and an associated color-current sector, which gives the nontrivial interactions and dissipation between the system and the environment. The resulting construction provides a gauge-covariant Markov embedding of nonlocal and non-Markovian color response. After integrating out the retained environmental variables with retarded boundary conditions, the reduced system theory acquires nonlocal dissipative kernels and stochastic sources. We show that the hard thermal loop response arises naturally as a particular realization of the retained environmental response. Our framework provides a local open-EFT description of color transport, memory effects, and fluctuation-dissipation structure in non-Abelian plasmas, and offers a systematic starting point for dissipative Yang--Mills EFTs with dynamical environments.

Moduli spaces of type II twists

We provide a complete classification of twisting supercharges for type IIA supergravity in a flat background by determining the orbits of square-zero elements in the $\mathcal{N}=(1,1)$ super Poincaré algebra in ten dimensions under the action of the Spin group. Together with recent results for type IIB, this completes the description of the moduli space of twists for type II supergravities. We show that the type IIA nilpotence variety is the union of the eleven-dimensional nilpotence variety and a second component, confirming a conjecture of Eager, Saberi, and Walcher, and determine which twists of type IIA arise via dimensional reduction. Using the pure spinor formulation of the superstring, we construct maps from the moduli spaces of worldsheet twists to those of target space twists for both type IIA and type IIB, and find that these maps are not surjective. Precisely those twists of supergravity whose stabilizers are special holonomy groups---$G_2$ in type IIA, $\mathrm{Spin}(7)$ and $\mathrm{Sp}(4)$ in type IIB---have no corresponding background on the pure spinor worldsheet. Finally, we work out the action of T-duality relating twists of type IIA and type IIB, and find an obstruction to dualizing the $G_2$-twist of type IIA along certain directions.
