Donsker Theorems for Occupation Measures of Multi-Dimensional Periodic Diffusions

Abstract

We study the empirical process arising from a multi-dimensional diffusion process with periodic drift and diffusivity. The smoothing properties of the generator of the diffusion are exploited to prove the Donsker property for certain classes of smooth functions. We partially generalise the finding from the one-dimensional case studied in [van der Vaart & van Zanten, 2005]: that the diffusion empirical process exhibits stronger regularity than in the classical case of i.i.d. observations. As an application, precise asymptotics are deduced for the Wasserstein-1 distance between the time-$T$ occupation measure and the invariant measure in dimensions $d\leq3$.

Spatial decorrelation of KPZ from narrow wedge

We study the spatial decorrelation of the solution to the KPZ equation with narrow wedge initial data. For fixed $t>0$, we determine the decay rate of the spatial covariance function, showing that ${\rm Cov}[h(t,x),h(t,0)]\sim \frac{t}{x}$ as $x\to\infty$. In addition, we prove that the finite-dimensional distributions of the properly rescaled spatial average of the height function converge to those of a Brownian motion.

Smooth measures and positive continuous additive functionals attached to a compact nest

The relationship between smooth measures and positive continuous additive functionals is well known, and this correspondence is called the Revuz correspondence. We investigate the relationships between several types of convergence of smooth measures and convergence of positive continuous additive functionals, mainly focusing on a treatment of nests. We provide conditions under which convergence of additive functionals implies convergence of the corresponding smooth measures. Our results cover convergence of smooth measures that are not Radon, including nowhere Radon measures.

The $H^{2|2}$ monotonicity theorem revisited

We use supersymmetric localization and integration by parts to derive variational and convex correlation inequalities in statistical physics. As a primary application, we give an alternative proof of the monotonicity theorem for the $H^{2|2}$ supersymmetric hyperbolic sigma model. This extends a result of Poudevigne to a stronger multivariate convex comparison inequality, without relying on probabilistic couplings.
