Improved search for $ψ(3770) \to γη_{c}(1S, 2S)$ radiative transitions

Abstract

Based on an integrated luminosity of $20.3~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of $e^{+}e^{-}$ annihilation data collected at a center-of-mass energy of $3.773~\rm{GeV}$ with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, an improved search for the radiative transitions $ψ(3770) \to γη_{c}(1S, 2S)$ is performed using the hadronic decays $η_{c}(1S, 2S) \to K^{0}_{S} K^{\pm} π^{\mp}$. No significant signal is observed. The corresponding 90$\%$ confidence level upper limits on the product branching fractions are set to be $5.0 \times 10^{-6}$ for the $η_{c}(1S)$ transition and $3.7 \times 10^{-6}$ for the $η_{c}(2S)$ transition. The 90$\%$ confidence level upper limits on the partial decay widths are also reported to be $Γ(ψ(3770) \to γη_{c}(1S)) < 5.5$ keV and $Γ(ψ(3770) \to γη_{c}(2S)) < 29.4~\rm{keV}$. With about seven times larger integrated luminosity than used previously, these results lower the upper limits by approximately a factor of three and two for the $η_{c}(1S)$ and $η_{c}(2S)$ transitions, respectively.

Agentic Hybrid RAG for Evidence-Grounded Muon Collider Analysis

Muon collider research spans accelerator physics, detector instrumentation, and high-energy phenomenology, with relevant evidence scattered across a rapidly expanding and heterogeneous body of scientific literature. As high-energy physics (HEP) increasingly explores agent-assisted analysis workflows, efficiently locating, integrating, and verifying scientific evidence becomes an essential capability. While retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) offers a promising framework for scientific question answering, integrating agentic reasoning without compromising retrieval precision remains a key challenge. In this work, we present agentic hybrid RAG, an evidence-grounded RAG framework for muon collider research. The framework combines a hybrid retriever, integrating sparse lexical and dense semantic retrieval, with an agentic reasoning module for query decomposition, evidence expansion, and grounded answer generation. To enable systematic evaluation, we construct the first benchmark for retrieval-augmented scientific question answering in the muon collider domain, comprising a curated literature corpus together with dedicated retrieval and answer-generation benchmarks covering major detector and physics research topics. Extensive evaluation shows that hybrid retrieval provides the strongest retrieval backbone, while agentic reasoning is most effective for controlled evidence expansion and answer synthesis. Built on this principle, agentic hybrid RAG consistently outperforms representative retrieval and RAG baselines in retrieval effectiveness, answer quality, evidence coverage, and factual grounding. Together, the benchmark and framework provide a foundation for evidence-grounded scientific question answering and future HEP analysis agents operating over large-scale scientific literature. Influence of the KK graviton decay into hh on the triple Higgs measurement at LHC

Evidence for two KK graviton candidates has been previously reported at 380 GeV and 700 GeV. They would provide graviton factories in an e+e- collider. Following a Randall Sundrum interpretation, two extra resonances should appear at 1000 GeV and 1322 GeV. Recently ATLAS, in its search for triple Higgs coupling, has reported an excess in that mass region which comforts this prediction. Local cross sections are therefore clearly in excess of the standard predictions which implies muHH>1. While still marginally significant, this effect appears in a mass region with low background which allows to expect good prospects of discovery with RUN3 data. Such a result could therefore allow to confirm the existence of a series of KK graviton resonances observable at LHC. An optimised strategy, which includes H(95) is proposed to do so. Other opportunities appear in searches for heavier KK graviton recurrences decaying into ZZ/WW in semi-leptonic and fully hadronic modes. Prospects for measuring heavy KK graviton decays GKKi->G380G380 at HL-LHC are discussed. Indirect evidences for the RS model coming from precision measurements are also presented. KK lower mass limits for other KK particles are deduced from precision measurements at LEP/SLC and LHC.

Analysis note: one-point charge correlator with DELPHI Open Data

We present the first measurement of the one-point charge correlator, the angular flux of electric charge in hadronic final states, using DELPHI Open Data collected at LEP-1 at $\sqrt{s} = 91.2$~GeV during 1994 and 1995. The data, corrected for detector effects, exhibit a clear $\sin(2θ)$ modulation, consistent with the parity-violating hadronic charge flow that the chiral structure of the $Z$ couplings imprints on the final state. The measurement demonstrates the experimental feasibility of the observable and establishes strategies for controlling associated detector effects, thereby motivating a new program to measure charge-flux observables. This note documents the experimental details supporting the companion experimental paper and the joint theory--experiment Letter.
