Vacuum polarization by charged matter fields in AdS spacetime in the presence of a cosmic string
Abstract
In this paper we revisited the analyse the vacuum polarizations effect associated wit charged matter fields in a higher-dimensional anti de-Sitter (AdS) spacetime in the presence of an idealized cosmic string carrying magnetic flux running along its core. Specifically we will consider, separately, charged bosonic and fermionic fields propagating in this manifold. Our main objective is to calculate the vacuum expectation values (VEV) of the energy-momentum tensor, $\langle T^μ_ν\rangle$, associated with both matters fields. As will see, these VEVs are even function of the magnetic flux running along the string's core, with period equal to the quantum flux $Φ_0=\frac{2π}{e}$. Because the results obtained are expressed in terms of special functions, and a clear behavior for them are not very enlightening, we provide some graphs exhibiting their behavior as function of the distance to the string considering different values for the parameters presented in the model considered.
