Uniqueness in inverse elastic scattering from traction-free polygonal obstacles with a single incoming wave
Abstract
In this article, we establish uniqueness in the inverse problem of time-harmonic elastic scattering from a bounded, traction-free obstacle in two dimensions. For a single incident plane wave, it is proved that a connected polygonal obstacle is uniquely determined by the measured far-field pattern. The analysis is based on a reflection principle for the Navier equation under traction-free boundary conditions and unique continuation of elastic fields.
