Phases in the cyclic quantum dilogarithm: correction to "Cyclic quantum Teichmüller theory"

Abstract

We first correct $\boldsymbolμ_N$-phase issues in the basic definition around the cyclic quantum dilogarithm operators in [Ish26]. In particular, the notion of global coefficients must be extended by incorporating additional lifting data forming a $\boldsymbolμ_N$-cover, and the pentagon relation generally acquires an extra $\boldsymbolμ_N$-factor. Nevertheless, we prove that every point in a regular locus of the partially compactified cluster Poisson variety lifts to a \emph{strict} extended global coefficient, for which this extra $\boldsymbolμ_N$-factor is trivial. Consequently, the original statements of [Ish26] hold for such lifts and are therefore restored.

A Table Theorem for Surfaces with Odd Euler Characteristic

We use the square peg problem for smooth curves to prove a generalized table Theorem for real valued functions on Riemannian surfaces with odd Euler characteristic. We then use this result to prove the table conjecture for even functions on the two sphere.

Biquandle-Based Invariants of Virtual Knotoids and Connected Sum

In this paper, we study the behavior of biquandle-based invariants of virtual knotoids under their connected sum. We first show that the fundamental biquandle of the connected sum of two virtual knotoids is the pushout of a span in the category of biquandles. By applying the Hom functor to this pushout description, we obtain the correspondence between biquandle colorings of $K_1 \# K_2$ and compatible pairs of colorings of summands. This provides a categorical explanation of a known matrix product formula for biquandle counting matrices under connected sum. We then study the behavior of biquandle virtual bracket invariants under connected sum. We introduce normalized multiset invariants derived from biquandle virtual brackets and show that they are strictly stronger than their unnormalized versions in certain cases by an explicit example. Furthermore, we show that for each coloring of the connected sum $K_1 \# K_2$ corresponding to a compatible pair of colorings of the summands $K_1$ and $K_2$, the normalized biquandle virtual bracket value factors as the product of the normalized values of the summands. Building on this, we obtain connected-sum formulas for the normalized multiset invariants defined by utilizing biquandle virtual brackets. When the coefficient ring is a number ring, the normalized bracket multisets can be encoded by polynomials and matrices with polynomial entries. We introduce an induced matrix product $\odot$ and show that the normalized biquandle virtual bracket matrices satisfy \begin{equation} \widetilde{M}_X^β(K_1 \# K_2) = \widetilde{M}_X^β(K_1) \odot \widetilde{M}_X^β(K_2). \end{equation}

Length-convexity and domination for Hitchin representations

Let $S$ be a closed oriented surface of genus $g\geq 2$. For any $n\geq 3$, let $\text{Hit}_n(S)$ be the Hitchin component and let $\text{Hit}_n(S)^\prime$ be the subset of representations that take values in $\mathrm{PSp}_{2m}(\mathbb{R})$ if $n=2m$ and $\mathrm{PSO}(m,m+1)$ if $n=2m+1$. In this note we prove that for any Hitchin representation $ρ\in \text{Hit}_n(S)$ there is $j \in \text{Hit}_n(S)^\prime$ such that $ρ$ dominates $j$ in the Hilbert length spectrum; this confirms a conjecture of Lee-Zhang and, independently, Tholozan who had proved this for $n=3$. The key step is establishing a convexity of the Hilbert length function in the Bonahon-Dreyer parametrization of $\text{Hit}_n(S)$; this uses a result from the recent work of Barman-Gupta. We also prove these convexity and domination results for translation length functions and their spectra.
