General Periodic Conservation Laws Motivated by Traffic Modeling
Abstract
This paper deals with the well-posedness, in the spatially periodic setting, of a mixed system of nonlocal-local conservation laws modeling traffic flow where autonomous vehicles --- informed on traffic conditions over long distances --- interact with human-driven bulk traffic. We also provide a comprehensive well-posedness theory in the periodic framework separately for general local conservation laws and for systems of nonlocal conservation laws, together with a priori total variation bounds and stability estimates.
