Lattice Moduli and Residual Atoms

Abstract

We study prescribed holomorphic lattices for regular-singular connections and residual factors of quantum $F$-bundles. For an arbitrary ordered monodromy spectrum, we classify the fully framed local groupoid: each residue fibre is a discrete affine space of dimension $r(r-1)$, with a unique normal form and trivial stabilisers. We then analyse elementary changes of lattice. A strictly positive integral residue difference obstructs the oriented wall; otherwise, in arbitrary rank, the extending normal-form arcs form an affine torsor of relative dimension $r(r-1)$, and specialisation to the shifted residue slice is polynomial and triangular by root height. Adjacent walls exhibit the composite-root correction dictated by the type-$A$ root-subgroup relations, while an example over the dual numbers detects a nilpotent saturation defect. For one-branch $F$-bundles, the scalar branch is recovered from the residual trace, and scalar residualisation yields a symmetric monoidal equivalence with zero-branch $F$-bundles. This construction yields residual atoms, functorial Jordan strata, and a residual chemical formula compatible with blow-ups and projective bundles. In the $A$-model, residualisation removes the unit direction; the rationally marked large-radius residual germ recovers the divisor cubic and distinguishes the marked residual germs of the Pfaffian and Grassmannian Calabi--Yau threefolds.

Automorphisms of Plane Curves defined from Chebychev polynomials

For any $d\geq 4$ we determine the automorphism groups of the algebraic curves \[ \mathcal{C}_d : y^d = φ_d(x), \] where $φ_d(x)$ denotes the Chebyshev polynomial of degree $d$, defined over a field $k$ with $p:=\operatorname{char}(k) \nmid 2d$. For $d>4$, it is $\mathbb{Z}/d\mathbb{Z}\times\mathbb{Z}/2\mathbb{Z}$, except when $2d=p^r+1$ or $4d=p^r+1$ for some $r\geq 1$. In these cases it is, respectively, $(\mathbb{Z}/d\mathbb{Z}\times\mathbb{Z}/d\mathbb{Z})\rtimes S_3$ and $\mathbb{Z}/d\mathbb{Z}\times S_3$. Two ingredients used here are a description of all total inflection points on $\cC_d$, and knowledge of the group of fractional linear transformations that preserve the set of zeros of $φ_d$.

On the complement of nef divisors on projective manifolds

Let $X'$ be a complex projective manifold, $\dim X'>1$, $Z$ a connected analytic subset of codimension one which is the support of a nef effective Cartier divisor $D$ on $X'$, $X:=X'\setminus Z$. Let $κ(D)$ be the Iitaka dimension of $D$. We prove that $X$ is not Hartogs if and only if $D$ is abundant and $κ(D)=1$. In particular, $X$ is not Hartogs if and only if $X$ is a proper fibration over an affine curve.

A remark on the Moduli of parabolic connections

We consider the moduli space of stable parabolic connections of full flag type with generic rational weights on a compact Riemann surface $X$ of genus $g \ge 3$, with singularities along the parabolic points. We compute the Chow groups of the fixed determinant moduli space consisting of parabolic connections whose underlying parabolic bundle is stable. We show that the moduli space of stable parabolic connections is not rationally connected, whereas the fixed determinant moduli space is rationally connected and in fact rational. We also prove that the determinant map to the Picard variety is universal among morphisms to abelian varieties. Finally, we show that the algebraic group of rank one holomorphic connections acts trivially on the cohomology of the moduli space of stable parabolic connections.
