Delooping levels on Morita context algebras

Abstract

We study the behavior of various delooping levels in the setting of Morita context algebras with zero bimodule homomorphisms. Building on the notion of syzygies for modules over such algebras, we establish conditions under which the delooping level (see [6]) of a Morita context algebra is finite, provided that the component algebras also have finite delooping levels. We further extend these results to other invariants, the global delooping level (see [2]) and the derived delooping level (see [8]), showing how their finiteness is preserved in the Morita context. Several examples illustrate both the applicability of our criteria and the necessity of the hypotheses, highlighting cases where the delooping level of the whole algebra can be smaller than that of its components.

Young's lattice, invariant ideals, and weak identities

For a $d$-dimensional vector space $V$ over a field of characteristic zero, we show that $GL(V)$-stable ideals of the universal enveloping algebra of the free two-step nilpotent Lie algebra $\mathfrak n_2(V)$ are in natural correspondence with filters in Young's lattice of integer partitions with at most $d$ rows. The same classification holds for $GL(V)$-stable Poisson ideals of $S(V\oplusΛ^2(V))$ with its natural Poisson bracket. As applications, we determine all weak polynomial identities of the $n$-th Weyl algebra relative to its standard generating subspace and of the universal enveloping algebra of the $(2n+1)$-dimensional Heisenberg Lie algebra relative to the Lie algebra itself.

Endoscopy for representations of disconnected reductive groups over finite fields

Let G be the group of rational points of a connected reductive group over a finite field. Based on work of Lusztig and Yun, we make the Jordan decomposition for irreducible G-representations canonical. It comes in the form of an equivalence between the category of G-representations with a fixed semisimple parameter s and a category of essentially unipotent representations of an endoscopic group of G, enriched with an equivariant structure with respect to the component group of the centralizer of s. Next we generalize these results, replacing the connected reductive group by a smooth group scheme with reductive neutral component. Again we establish canonical equivalences for both the rational and the geometric series of G-representations, in terms of essentially unipotent representations of endoscopic groups.
