Dynamic Bayesian Networks to simulate occupant behaviours in office buildings related to indoor air quality

This paper proposes a new general approach based on Bayesian networks to model the human behaviour. This approach represents human behaviour with probabilistic cause-effect relations based on knowledge, but also with conditional probabilities coming either from knowledge or deduced from observations. This approach has been applied to the co-simulation of the CO2 concentration in an office coupled with human behaviour.

Towards a general framework for an observation and knowledge based model of occupant behaviour in office buildings

g(B*Bpi)-coupling in the static heavy quark limit

By means of QCD simulations on the lattice, we compute the coupling of the heavy-light mesons to a soft pion in the static heavy quark limit. The gauge field configurations used in this calculations include the effect of N_f=2 dynamical Wilson quarks, while for the static quark propagator we use its improved form (so called HYP). On the basis of our results we obtain that the coupling g=0.44 +/- 0.03 (+0.07/-0.00), where the second error is flat (not gaussian).

Soft Photon Problem in Leptonic B-decays

We point out at the peculiarity of B --> mu nu decay, namely the enhancement of the soft photon events which originate from the structure dependent part of the B --> mu nu gamma amplitude. This may be a dominant source of systematic uncertainty and compromise the projected experimental uncertainty on Gamma(B --> mu nu). We show that the effect of these soft photons can be controlled if the experimental cut on identification of soft photons is lowered and especially if the better resolution in identifying the momentum of muon emerging from B --> mu nu, is made. A lattice QCD computation of the relevant form factors would be highly helpful for a better numerical control over the structure dependent soft photon emission.

D*-->Dpi and D*-->Dgamma decays: Axial coupling and Magnetic moment of D* meson

The axial coupling and the magnetic moment of D*-meson or, more specifically, the couplings g(D*Dpi) and g(D*Dgamma), encode the non-perturbative QCD effects describing the decays D*-->Dpi and D*-->Dgamma. We compute these quantities by means of lattice QCD with Nf=2 dynamical quarks, by employing the Wilson ("clover") action. On our finer lattice (a=0.065 fm) we obtain: g(D*Dpi)=20 +/- 2, and g(D0*D0gamma)=[2.0 +/- 0.6]/GeV. This is the first determination of g(D0*D0gamma) on the lattice. We also provide a short phenomenological discussion and the comparison of our result with experiment and with the results quoted in the literature.

D-decays with unquenched Lattice QCD

We discuss the recent progress in computing the D-meson decay constant and D->pi l nu form factors from the lattice QCD simulations with Nf=2 dynamical using Wilson quarks. We report fD=201(20)MeV and F+(1GeV^2)/fD=4.04(78)GeV^-1 at a=0.08fm.

Semileptonic D-decays and Lattice QCD

We explore four different strategies to extract the D-meson semileptonic decay form factors from the Green functions computed in QCD numerically on the lattice. From our numerical tests we find that two such strategies, based on the use of double ratios of 3-point correlation functions, lead to an appreciable reduction of systematic uncertainties. This is an important step in reducing the overall uncertainty in the lattice QCD results for the D-decay form factors which are needed to determine the CKM entries |Vcd| and |Vcs| experimentally, that are nowadays known by imposing the unitarity of the CKM matrix.
