The Legendre transformation is a crucial tool in theoretical physics, known for its symmetry, especially when applied to multivariate functions. In statistical mechanics, ensembles represent the central focus. Leveraging the dimensionless aspect of Legendre transformation, this paper explores the transformation process from the entropy characteristic function of microcanonical ensembles to the analogous definition of partition function transformation. Additionally, it derives characteristic functions, partition functions, and establishes their interrelations, along with deriving corresponding thermodynamic formulas for various ensembles. This streamlined approach sheds light on the fundamental principles of statistical mechanics and underscores the symmetry inherent in Legendre transformation.
Low-light vision remains a fundamental challenge in computer vision due to severe illumination degradation, which significantly affects the performance of downstream tasks such as detection and segmentation. While recent state-of-the-art methods have improved performance through invariant feature learning modules, they still fall short due to incomplete modeling of low-light conditions. Therefore, we revisit low-light image formation and extend the classical Lambertian model to better characterize low-light conditions. By shifting our analysis to the frequency domain, we theoretically prove that the frequency-domain channel ratio can be leveraged to extract illumination-invariant features via a structured filtering process. We then propose a novel and end-to-end trainable module named \textbf{F}requency-domain \textbf{R}adial \textbf{B}asis \textbf{Net}work (\textbf{FRBNet}), which integrates the frequency-domain channel ratio operation with a learnable frequency domain filter for the overall illumination-invariant feature enhancement. As a plug-and-play module, FRBNet can be integrated into existing networks for low-light downstream tasks without modifying loss functions. Extensive experiments across various downstream tasks demonstrate that FRBNet achieves superior performance, including +2.2 mAP for dark object detection and +2.9 mIoU for nighttime segmentation. We investigate the phenomenon of CP violation in the weak decay of bottom hadrons (B mesons) through comprehensive theoretical analysis and mathematical derivations. We analyze the fundamental mechanisms of B meson decay, emphasizing the interplay between CP symmetry breaking and the contributions from the quark level. By examining the role of the weak Hamiltonian, we reveal the significance of both short-range and long-range interactions in the decay process. Our theoretical framework highlights the close relationship between differential decay distributions and CP violation, providing a robust foundation for understanding CP violation phenomena in B meson decays. We discuss the implications of our findings for future research, particularly the necessity of improving the precision of CP violation measurements to validate existing theoretical models and explore potential new physics. Through a combination of mathematical derivations and theoretical insights, this study aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the matter-antimatter asymmetry problem in particle physics.
