LiG-DETR: Local-in-Global Reassembly in Latent Space for Aerial Object Detection

Aerial object detection faces substantial scale and density variations. Small objects are easily degraded by downsampling and feature compression, while medium and large objects require sufficient global context. Existing methods mainly follow two paradigms: image slicing provides clearer local evidence but relies on independent crop-level prediction and post-processing, whereas feature- and query-level optimization preserves unified inference but operates on already compressed full-image representations, limiting recovery of fine-grained information. This raises a key question: can aerial detection directly acquire high-fidelity local evidence before feature degradation and integrate it into a unified end-to-end framework? To this end, we propose LiG-DETR, an Efficient Global-Local Reassembly framework that reformulates image slicing as high-fidelity local feature acquisition. A shared encoder extracts global and locally magnified features, which are projected into the detector feature space. The projected local features are reassembled according to their original spatial locations to form a globally aligned local feature level, and a single DETR decoder jointly decodes global and local features. To reduce redundant computation, Context-Preserved Selective Reassembly focuses high-resolution encoding on informative regions while preserving a dense feature layout, and Density-Aware Adaptive Query Allocation adapts the decoder query budget using encoder proposal scores. Experiments show substantial gains on small and medium objects while retaining strong large-object performance, with favorable accuracy--efficiency trade-offs and improved cross-domain generalization. The code will be released.

ECAD: Expanding Class-Agnostic Detection Beyond Thing-Centric Objectness

Object detection is a fundamental task in visual perception, providing structured region representations for recognition, grounding, reasoning, and interaction. However, existing detection paradigms largely inherit a thing-centric notion of objectness, where detectors are mainly trained to localize discrete and countable object instances. Consequently, many semantically meaningful visual elements, such as sky, road, grassland, water, and sports courts, are often absorbed into the background despite their importance for scene understanding and spatial reasoning. In this paper, we formulate Expanded Class-Agnostic Detection (ECAD), a new setting that aims to discover category-agnostic visual candidates beyond conventional thing-centric objects. To support this setting, we construct BTCO-Bench, a Beyond Thing-Centric Objectness benchmark with category-agnostic box annotations covering both real-world and cross-domain scenarios. We further propose ECADet, a lightweight DETR-based detector built upon a frozen DINOv3 encoder, and introduce Geometry-Aware Expert Regression (GAER) and Prototype-Guided Query Modulation (PGQM) to improve localization and objectness estimation for diverse visual elements, respectively. Extensive experiments show that ECADet consistently outperforms representative class-agnostic and proposal-based detectors on BTCO-Bench, demonstrating the effectiveness of expanded objectness discovery. Code and benchmark will be released.

RT-SDGOD: Real-Time Single-Domain Generalized Object Detection

In real-world deployment under strict real-time constraints, weather and imaging variations induce significant distribution shifts, severely degrading detectors. Single-Domain Generalized Object Detection aims to mitigate this issue, yet existing methods rarely investigate-at the level of problem formulation-the generalization capability of real-time detectors under such constrained inference budgets. To this end, we introduce Real-Time Single-Domain Generalized Object Detection (RT-SDGOD), which focuses on how real-time detectors can achieve cross-domain generalization under zero extra inference overhead by relying solely on training-time representation learning. We observe that, under domain shift, DETR-based real-time detectors mainly degrade through increased missed detections, rooted in limited and unstable object-level discriminative evidence. Based on this, we propose RT-SDGDet, a multi-evidence collaborative modeling framework for RT-SDGOD. The core idea is to enable multiple queries of the same object to collaboratively cover more sufficient discriminative evidence while maintaining the stability of such evidence modeling across views. Specifically, we use one-to-many (O2M) supervision to construct stable object-specific query groups, and further design Discriminative Evidence Diversity Learning (DEDL) and Dual-view Evidence Consistency Learning (DvECL) to expand object-level evidence coverage and improve evidence stability under appearance perturbations, respectively. Since all components are introduced only during training, our method incurs no extra inference overhead. Extensive experiments show that the proposed method achieves better generalization performance than existing approaches across multiple unseen target domains.
