Partial reconstruction of the decay $B_{s}^{0}\rightarrow ϕ(K^{+}K^{-})η' (π^{+}π^{-}η)$

The decay $B_s^0 \to ϕ(K^+K^-)η'(π^+π^-η)$ is of particular interest in flavour physics because in the Standard Model it proceeds predominantly through the quark transition $\bar{b} \to \bar{s}s\bar{s}$. However, the reconstruction of this decay is experimentally challenging due to the presence of the neutral $η$ particle, which significantly reduces the overall reconstruction efficiency. In this study, the feasibility of using the partial reconstruction technique to reconstruct the invariant mass of the $B_s^0$ meson without explicitly detecting the $η$ particle is investigated. Monte Carlo simulated events corresponding to an FCC-ee environment are used, and the effects of detector momentum and vertex resolutions on the reconstruction performance are examined. The results show that improved vertex resolution substantially improves the global reconstructed mass response and partial-reconstruction efficiency, while improvements in momentum resolution are manifested primarily through a narrowing of the fitted central DCB component. These findings suggest that future high-luminosity $e^+e^-$ colliders such as FCC-ee could effectively exploit the partial reconstruction technique to study rare decay modes containing undetected neutral particles.

Search for a Time-Dependent Z' Resonance in the Dimuon Channel

We present a time-domain search strategy for resonances with periodically varying masses in high-energy collider data. Conventional resonance searches rely on time-integrated event samples and are therefore insensitive to signals whose properties evolve during data taking. To address this limitation, we develop a two-dimensional unbinned likelihood framework in invariant mass and time, allowing the reconstruction of signals that trace nontrivial trajectories in the $(m,t)$ plane rather than appearing as stationary resonances. As a benchmark scenario, we consider a $Z'$ boson arising from a gauged $U(1)_{B-L}$ extension of the Standard Model and introduce a phenomenological model in which the mediator mass undergoes periodic temporal modulation. The resulting signal manifests as a resonance whose position changes with time, producing distinctive patterns that are inaccessible to conventional analyses based solely on invariant-mass information. The method is implemented using dimuon events from the CMS Open Data corresponding to the Run~G data-taking period at $\sqrt{s}=13~\mathrm{TeV}$, with an integrated luminosity of $7.54~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. We derive upper limits on the gauge coupling $g'$ as a function of the $Z'$ mass for several choices of the modulation amplitude. The results demonstrate that incorporating temporal information can enhance sensitivity relative to standard time-integrated searches, particularly in regions with sufficient signal statistics.

Bounds reach of a future circular collider on the parameters of a minimal Baryon-Lepton symmetric model

This paper investigates the physics potential of the proton-proton Future Circular Collider (FCC-hh) in the search for a new heavy gauge boson, Z', within the framework of the minimal Baryon-Lepton (B-L) symmetric model. We examine the exclusion limits on the mass of the Z' boson for various sets of coupling constants, utilizing leptonic decays, specifically into charged lepton pairs (electron and muon). Using the DARKCAST framework, we compare the parameter constraints derived from previous experiments with the expected reach of the FCC-hh, providing insights into the collider sensitivity and potential to probe new physics beyond the Standard Model.
