StableTTA: Improving Vision Model Performance by Training-free Test-Time Adaptation Methods

Ensemble methods improve predictive performance but often incur high memory and computational costs. We identify an aggregation instability induced by nonlinear projection and voting operations. To address both efficiency challenges and this inconsistency, we propose StableTTA, a training-free test-time adaptation method with two variants. StableTTA-I targets coherent-batch inference settings, where temporally or semantically adjacent observations are likely to belong to the same class. Examples include burst photography, video streams, robotics perception, and industrial inspection. Under coherent-batch inference, StableTTA-I substantially improves prediction consistency and accuracy through variance-aware logit aggregation. StableTTA-II establishes feature-level cropping, enabling efficient logit aggregation with a single forward pass on a single model backbone. Experiments on ImageNet-1K across 71 models demonstrate that StableTTA-I consistently improves prediction accuracy under coherent-batch inference, while StableTTA-II provides lightweight and architecture-agnostic accuracy improvements with minimal computational overhead. These results suggest that inference-time semantic coherence and aggregation stability provide useful perspectives for improving practical test-time adaptation systems.

AROpt: An Optimization Method for Autoregressive Time Series Forecasting

Current time-series forecasting models are primarily based on transformer-style neural networks. These models achieve long-term forecasting mainly by scaling up the model size rather than through genuinely autoregressive (AR) rollout. From the perspective of large language model training, traditional time-series forecasting model training ignores the monotonic error-growth heuristic. In this paper, we propose a novel training method for time-series forecasting that enforces two key properties: (1) AR prediction errors should increase with the forecasting horizon. Violations of this trend are interpreted as rollout inconsistency and are softly penalized during training, and (2) the method enables models to be able to concatenate short-term AR predictions to form flexible long-term forecasts. Empirical results demonstrate that our method establishes a new state-of-the-art across multiple benchmarks, achieving an MSE reduction of more than $10\%$ compared to iTransformer and other recent strong baselines. Furthermore, it enables short-horizon forecasting models to perform reliable long-term predictions at horizons over 7.5 times longer. Code is available at https://github.com/LizhengMathAi/AROpt

Sequential Policy Gradient for Adaptive Hyperparameter Optimization

Reinforcement learning is essential for neural architecture search and hyperparameter optimization, but the conventional approaches impede widespread use due to prohibitive time and computational costs. Inspired by DeepSeek-V3 multi-token prediction architecture, we propose Sequential Policy Gradient modeling (SPG), a novel trajectory generation paradigm for lightweight online hyperparameter optimization. In contrast to conventional policy gradient methods, SPG extends the base model with temporary modules, enabling it to generate state-action (padded) trajectories in a single forward pass. Our experiments demonstrate that models gain performance when retrained with SPG on their original datasets and also outperform standard transfer fine-tuning. We evaluate on five datasets spanning computer vision (ImageNet, COCO), natural language processing (GLUE, SQuAD), and audio (SUPERB) to assess the industrial applicability of SPG. The proposed method demonstrates consistent improvements across widely adopted models, achieving performance gains of $+0.2\sim7\%$, with significantly low computational costs.
