Self-similar blow-up solutions of $d$-dimensional incompressible Euler equations with $C^{1,\left(1-2/d\right)-}$ velocity

We investigate self-similar blow-up solutions to the $d$-dimensional axisymmetric incompressible Euler equations without swirl for $d\ge 3$. For any $α\in(0, α_d)$ with $α_d=1-2/d$, we construct a self-similar blow-up solution whose initial velocity field satisfies $u_0\in C^{1,α}_{\rm loc}(\mathbb R^d)\cap C^\infty(\mathbb R^d\setminus\{0\})$. Our construction relies on a fixed-point argument formulated for the self-similar profile equations, which form a coupled elliptic-transport system. Specifically, the transport equation recovers the vorticity profile from given data along characteristic curves, while the elliptic equation reconstructs the velocity field via Newtonian potentials defined in an auxiliary $(d+4)$-dimensional space. The main challenge consists in choosing appropriate function spaces that remain invariant under such nonlinear compositions and that simultaneously capture the exact singular behavior near the origin and the symmetry axis. Furthermore, we establish a finite-codimensional stability result for the self-similar profiles obtained above. As a consequence, after suitable truncation and correction of finitely many unstable modes, we obtain finite-energy blow-up solutions with initial velocity in $C^{1,α}(\mathbb R^d)\cap C^\infty(\mathbb R^d\setminus\{0\})\cap L^2(\mathbb R^d)$ and compactly supported initial vorticity. These solutions are asymptotically self-similar near the blow-up time.

High-accuracy ultrasonic positioning of calibration sources in the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory

Precise source positioning is essential for detector calibration in large liquid scintillator detectors such as JUNO, particularly in regions where purely mechanical control is insufficient. An ultrasonic positioning system has been developed to reconstruct the three-dimensional coordinates of a calibration source without interfering with photon collection or contaminating the liquid scintillator. The method combines a sound-speed modeling based on dedicated laboratory measurements and in-detector temperature profiles, waveform-based arrival-time reconstruction, and an in-situ calibration of the effective receiver geometry using central-axis deployments. With six active receivers, central-axis positioning yields a mean error of 1.23 cm relative to the known deployment reference. For off-axis operation in the Cable Loop System calibration plane, a detector-realistic simulation that includes timing resolution, sound-speed variation, and receiver-coordinate smearing predicts a positioning uncertainty of 2.40 cm. These results demonstrate that ultrasonic positioning can provide centimetre-level source accuracy for large liquid scintillator detectors and can support off-axis calibration in JUNO-like experiments.

SemDPLA: Semantic Communication-based Distributed Physical-Layer Authentication for 6G-enabled Dense IoT

With the rapid development of 6G, increasingly dense device connectivity imposes more strict requirements on multi-users Physical-Layer Authentication (PLA). Compared with cryptography-based methods, PLA enables lightweight authentication by using the uniqueness of wireless channels. However, existing PLA schemes in dense wireless scenarios often suffer from weak fingerprint discriminability and limited computation and communication resources. To address these challenges, we propose a Semantic Communication-based Distributed PLA (SemDPLA) framework. The framework constructs fused central semantic Channel State Information (CSI) fingerprints by fusing semantic information from a central node and multiple distributed nodes. Specifically, we introduce semantic communication to reduce the impact of low Signal Noise Ratio (SNR) and the consumption of communication resource during the transmission from distributed nodes to central node. Furthermore, we propose an ArcFace-based classification method and a semantic fingerprint-oriented distributed voting consistency mechanism to enhance device classification accuracy. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed SemDPLA scheme performs better than single-node authentication, decision fusion, raw-CSI transmission, and feature fusion baselines. It achieves equal error rates (EERs) of 8.6% at 0 dB and 3.4% at 20 dB. It also achieves classification accuracies of 91.4% at 0 dB and above 95.8% from 5 to 20 dB. Moreover, SemDPLA is robust in low SNR environment and under attacks of abnormal nodes.

Single-Shot High-Energy Muon and Particle Radiography with a Multi-GeV Laser-Wakefield-Accelerator-Driven Source

We report the first demonstration of single-shot particle radiography using a 1-10 GeV laser-wakefield-generated beam of muons, pions, and neutrons. The test objects were imaged ~15 m from the beam source, through dense lead shielding followed by the walls of a building and a truck. The muon content of the beam was directly confirmed using large volume scintillator-based detectors, which recorded particle decay events with timing delays consistent with the muon lifetime. Simulations confirm that the high energy component of the beam transmitted through the test object is nearly entirely composed of muons, directly showing their highly penetrative nature, with a single-shot fluence equivalent to >8 hours of integration of cosmic ray muons near the horizon. Our work establishes single-shot high-energy particle radiography with a laser-wakefield-accelerator-driven source.

Resonant-impurity scanning tunneling spectroscopy in altermagnets: dual Fano resonance and Landau-quantization-induced nodal spin contrast

Using a Green's-function formalism, we study the spin-resolved local spectral function of a resonant impurity coupled to a two-dimensional $d$% -wave altermagnetic substrate. It is found that the interplay between direct tunneling from the impurity to the scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) tip and altermagnet-mediated tunneling gives rise to a dual Fano resonance in the absence of an external magnetic field. Moreover, the anisotropic spin-dependent oscillations of the local density of states and the corresponding Fano factors provide information on the altermagnetic splitting strength from complementary local and global perspectives. In addition, spin-selective tunneling can be achieved by tuning the Fermi energy and the tip position. In the presence of a strong magnetic field with Landau-level quantization, the dominant scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS) signature appears as a spin-dependent nodal structure in real space: the nodal mismatch between opposite spin channels produces a large local spin contrast. These results establish resonant-impurity STM/STS as a phase-sensitive local probe of altermagnetic band anisotropy.

-8 dB SNR + 90% Packet Loss: MamVSC -- CSI-Guided Semantic Mamba for Extreme-Robust Video Semantic Communication

Semantic communication, leveraging joint source-channel coding, is designed to mitigate semantic distortion introduced by the channel. However, most current studies focus solely on semantic deviation distortion caused by physical wireless channels, while overlooking semantic erasure distortion due to packet loss. A CSI-Guided Mamba-based video semantic wireless digital communication system (MamVSC) employing semantic grouping is proposed to simultaneously address both semantic deviation and erasure distortions. In this system, a semantic Mamba module, guided by channel state information (CSI) feedback, is utilized to dynamically adjust the granularity of extracted semantic information, adapting to channel conditions. Furthermore, a Semantic Channel Codec based on dynamic Semantic clustering centers is introduced, where the distance between semantic vectors within the same semantic class and their corresponding Semantic clustering center is dynamically adjusted according to channel conditions, enhancing robustness against channel noise. Additionally, a adaptive packet loss recovery module, dynamically adaptive to the CSI, is proposed. The system achieves an MS-SSIM greater than 0.6 and a PSNR exceeding 21 dB at an SNR of -8 dB and a packet loss rate of 90% in AWGN channel.

Statistical inference for the probability of necessity for causal attribution

To answer questions of "causes of effects", the probability of necessity was previously introduced for assessing whether an observed outcome was caused by an earlier treatment. However, statistical inference for the probability of necessity is understudied due to several difficulties, which hinder its application in practice. The evaluation of the probability of necessity involves the joint distribution of potential outcomes, and thus it is generally not point identified and one can at best obtain lower and upper bounds even in randomized experiments, unless fairly stringent monotonicity assumptions on potential outcomes are made. Moreover, these bounds are non-smooth functionals of the observed data distribution and standard estimation and inference methods cannot be directly applied. In this paper, we investigate the statistical inference for the probability of necessity in general situations where it may not be point identified. We introduce a mild margin condition to tackle the non-smoothness, under which the bounds become pathwise differentiable. We establish the semiparametric efficiency theory and propose novel asymptotically efficient estimators of the lower and upper bounds, and further construct confidence intervals for the probability of necessity based on the proposed bound estimators. The resultant confidence intervals can effectively utilize the observed covariates to reduce lengths. The proposed approach has potential application in biomedical, epidemiological, and legal studies where understanding causal attribution beyond traditional causal effects is essential.

Semantic-based Internet of Embodied Intelligence: Visions and Frontiers

Recent advances in generative artificial intelligence (AI) and embodied intelligence (EI) enable autonomous agents to interact with the physical world. However, scaling these systems into networks of multiple agents, namely the Internet of EI (IoEI), faces critical bottlenecks. These include the overhead of massive multimodal data transmission and the decoupling of logical reasoning from physical constraints. To address these challenges, we envision the Semantic-based IoEI (SIoEI), which leverages semantic information as a unified metric throughout the agent lifecycle. We systematically define four key dimensions of EI: perception, intelligence, control, and communication. We further elaborate how semantic empowerment revolutionizes environmental perception, cognition and task planning, action generation and robust control, and communication and networking. We also present a case study to verify that, the semantic-empowered end-to-end process significantly improves channel robustness and reduces end-to-end latency for EI. Finally, we outline critical open research directions for the SIoEI paradigm.

Demystifying the Design Space and Best Practices for Heterogeneous LLM Inference and Serving

Heterogeneous prefill-decode (PD) inference is now in production: prefill on cost-efficient or supply-available accelerators, decode on bandwidth-strong ones, and KV state crossing mixed interconnects in mixed numerical formats. Each deployment makes these decisions on its own. What is missing is the picture across configurations-which decisions must be made jointly at the PD boundary, and which can be made independently. We propose a design space organized along four design axes-accelerator, precision, interconnect, and KV residency and the workload regime (stage pressure) they respond to. We show that only a subset of interactions among these factors become binding constraints once PD inference becomes heterogeneous. These interactions surface through three recurring boundary decisions: compute placement, KV representation, and KV ownership. The resulting analysis yields concrete guidance. Precision policy belongs to runtime roles rather than to a single system-wide setting, because the same low-bit format relieves different bottlenecks on each side of the boundary. KV transfer engines move bytes rather than tensor semantics, making representation compatibility an explicit boundary concern whenever producer and consumer differ. The KV handoff also carries a lifecycle-reservation, release, and failure recovery-that spans prefill and decode and requires explicit ownership. Two further interactions remain open. Cross-vendor and interconnect-related claims are stated as design guidance grounded in industrial deployment observations and source-code inspection of the runtimes involved.

A Synonymous Variational Perspective on the Rate-Distortion-Perception Tradeoff

The fundamental limit of natural signal compression has traditionally been characterized by classical rate-distortion (RD) theory through the tradeoff between coding rate and reconstruction distortion, while the rate-distortion-perception (RDP) framework introduces a divergence-based measure of perceptual quality as a modeling principle, leaving its theoretical origin unclear. In this paper, motivated by a synonymity-based semantic information perspective, we reformulate perceptual reconstruction as recovering any admissible sample within an ideal synonymous set (synset) associated with the source, rather than the source sample itself, and establish a synonymous source coding architecture. On this basis, we develop a synonymous variational inference (SVI) analysis framework with a synonymous variational lower bound (SVLBO) for tractable analysis of synset-oriented compression. Within this framework, we establish a synonymity-perception consistency principle, showing that optimal identification of semantic information is theoretically consistent with perceptual optimization. Based on this result, we further derive a tight-bound synonymous source coding rate characterization and show that its Jensen-limit relaxation leads to a synonymous rate-distortion-perception form for practical optimization. These analytical results show that the distributional divergence term arises naturally from the synset-based reconstruction objective, clarify its compatibility with existing RDP formulations and classical RD theory, and suggest the potential advantages of synonymous source coding.

Graph Diffusion-Based AeBS Deployment and Resource Allocation in RSMA-Enabled URLLC Low-Altitude Wireless Networks

As a key component of low-altitude wireless networks, aerial base stations (AeBSs) provide flexible and reliable wireless coverage to support 6G ultra-reliable and low-latency communication (URLLC) services. However, limited spectrum resources and severe co-channel interference pose significant challenges to the deployment and resource allocation of AeBSs. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a novel rate-splitting multiple access (RSMA)-enabled transmission design to manage interference and enhance URLLC services in spectrum-constrained multi-AeBS networks. We formulate a joint optimization problem involving AeBS deployment, user association, and resource allocation to maximize the sum rate and coverage of system. Given the NP-hard nature of the problem, we propose a novel alternating optimization framework based on the generative graph diffusion models. Specifically, we model AeBSs and ground users as graph nodes, then we employ a discrete graph generation process solved via denoising diffusion to explore the combinatorial space of deployment and association strategies. Moreover, the successive convex approximation (SCA) is adopted to optimize AeBS beamforming and RSMA rate allocation under finite blocklength constraints. Extensive simulations demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing methods in terms of convergence speed, sum rate, and coverage, while also exhibiting robust performance under varying network densities and interference levels.

DiT-JSCC: Rethinking Deep JSCC with Diffusion Transformers and Semantic Representations

Generative joint source-channel coding (GJSCC) has emerged as a new Deep JSCC paradigm for achieving high-fidelity and robust image transmission under extreme wireless channel conditions, such as ultra-low bandwidth and low signal-to-noise ratio. Recent studies commonly adopt diffusion models as generative decoders, but they frequently produce visually realistic results with limited semantic consistency. This limitation stems from a fundamental mismatch between reconstruction-oriented JSCC encoders and generative decoders, as the former lack explicit semantic discriminability and fail to provide reliable conditional cues. In this paper, we propose DiT-JSCC, a novel GJSCC backbone that can jointly learn a semantics-prioritized representation encoder and a diffusion transformer (DiT) based generative decoder, our open-source project aims to promote the future research in GJSCC. Specifically, we design a semantics-detail dual-branch encoder that aligns naturally with a coarse-to-fine conditional DiT decoder, prioritizing semantic consistency under extreme channel conditions. Moreover, a training-free adaptive bandwidth allocation strategy inspired by Kolmogorov complexity is introduced to further improve the transmission efficiency, thereby indeed redefining the notion of information value in the era of generative decoding. Extensive experiments demonstrate that DiT-JSCC consistently outperforms existing JSCC methods in both semantic consistency and visual quality, particularly in extreme regimes.

Solutions of the 3D inhomogeneous incompressible Navier-Stokes system with initial velocity in $VMO^{-1}$

In this paper, we establish local existence of strong solutions for the three-dimensional inhomogeneous incompressible Navier-Stokes equations with initial data $(ρ_0,u_0)$ lying in $C^1 \times (L^2 \cap VMO^{-1})$, where $ρ_0$ has a positive lower bound. Furthermore, if $ρ_0 \in C^2$ and $||ρ_0-1||_{L^\infty}+||u_0||_{BMO^{-1}}$ is sufficiently small, we prove global existence of the solution. To achieve this, we employ an estimate for the transport equation to obtain regularity for the density and apply a new freezing-coefficient method for the momentum equation.

DWM-RO: Decentralized World Models with Reasoning Offloading for SWIPT-enabled Satellite-Terrestrial HetNets

Wireless networks are undergoing a paradigm shift toward massive connectivity with energy-efficient operation, driving the integration of satellite-terrestrial architectures with simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT). Optimizing transmit beamforming and power splitting in such systems faces formidable challenges, e.g., time-varying channels and multi-tier interference, which create a complex decision landscape where conventional model-free multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL) suffers from sample inefficiency due to rarely-encountered state transitions and poor coordination as decentralized agents act independently. This paper proposes the Decentralized World Model with Reasoning Offloading (DWM-RO) framework to address these fundamental limitations. Specifically, each agent employs a world model to learn compact predictive representations of environment dynamics, enabling imagination-based policy training that dramatically reduces required environment interactions. An uncertainty-aware offloading gate monitors local interference levels and model reconstruction errors to trigger selective edge coordination. When activated, a lightweight latent decorrelation mechanism at the edge refines agents' strategic representations, guiding them toward orthogonal actions that minimize resource conflicts. Extensive simulations demonstrate that DWM-RO converges 5 times faster than state-of-the-art baselines while achieving 34.7% higher spectral efficiency and reducing constraint violations by 40%. In dense network scenarios with 10 users, DWM-RO maintains violation rates below 20% while baselines exceed 70%, validating superior robustness.

Twisted-pair unilateral reconnection: A unifying driver for magnetically powered astrophysical bursts

Magnetic reconnection in twisted loops has long been invoked as an engine powering energetic transients from black hole accretion to neutron star mergers, yet never directly observed. Here we report the first direct observation of the complete reconnection of this type in a solar flare. We find a magnetic loop twisted to about 540 degrees, far exceeding the 180 degrees twist assumed in existing simulations. This extreme twist inherently enables efficient multiple X-line reconnection, akin to the role of turbulence in contemporary theory. Remarkably, the intertwined end breaks unilaterally after reconnection (unlike symmetric breaking in simulations), forming open field lines that release hot plasma -- providing a promising mechanism for coronal generation or heating. We first detect hard X-ray emission from the current sheet, directly proving it as a particle accelerator. Moreover, we discover a power-law relationship between quasi-periodic oscillation frequency and magnetic field strength across solar flares, black hole binaries, active galactic nuclei, magnetars, and gamma-ray bursts. This relation identifies twisted-pair unilateral reconnection as a common burst mechanism and provides a natural ruler for cosmic magnetic fields. These findings establish an observational foundation for future reconnection theory and simulations, offering a unified framework for magnetically powered bursts.

STCC: A Unified Source-Channel Semantic Token Coding Framework for Semantic Communications

Deep Joint Source-Channel Coding (JSCC) has emerged as a promising paradigm for overcoming the ``cliff effect" in wireless communications. However, existing Deep JSCC frameworks operate directly on raw analog data such as image pixels rather than the discrete semantic tokens that foundation models require. Moreover, traditional systems employ fixed, hand-designed constellations that treat all tokens equally, leading to catastrophic random errors under channel noise. In this paper, the Semantic Token Codebook Communication (STCC) is proposed as a unified source-channel semantic token coding framework designed to transmit the discrete semantic tokens of foundation models over noisy channels. The core of STCC is the Semantic Token Codec (STC). It accepts discrete tokens as input, which maintains compatibility with foundation models while employing a residual multiple layer perceptron, i.e., MLP-based encoder that learns geometrically structured constellations optimized with a triple-loss objective. This learned mapping forces the channel topology to align with the semantic embedding space, ensuring that channel noise results in topological errors rather than random corruption. This phenomenon is theoretically and empirically characterized, identifying ``Semantic Drift" in symbolic modalities and ``Structural Distortion" in perceptual modalities, where errors shift predictions to semantically or structurally similar tokens. Extensive experiments demonstrate that STCC significantly outperforms traditional systems in low-SNR regimes, effectively converting channel noise into semantic variations without requiring receiver-side modification.

Agentic AI-Enhanced Semantic Communications: Foundations, Architecture, and Applications

Semantic communications (SemCom), as one of the key technologies for 6G, is shifting networks from bit transmission to semantic information exchange. On this basis, introducing agentic artificial intelligence (AI) with perception, memory, reasoning, and action capabilities provides a practicable path to intelligent communications. This paper provides a systematic exposition of how agentic AI empowers SemCom from the perspectives of research foundations, system architecture, and application scenarios. We first provide a comprehensive review of existing studies by agent types, covering embedded agents, large language model (LLM)/large vision model (LVM) agents, and reinforcement learning (RL) agents. Additionally, we propose a unified agentic AI-enhanced SemCom framework covering the application layer, the semantic layer, and the cloud-edge collaboration layer, forming a closed loop from intent to encoding to transmission to decoding to action to evaluation. We also present several typical scenarios, including multi-vehicle collaborative perception, multi-robot cooperative rescue, and agentic operations for intellicise (intelligent and concise) networks. Furthermore, we introduce an agentic knowledge base (KB)-based joint source-channel coding case study, AKB-JSCC, where the source KB and channel KB are built by LLM/LVM agents and RL agents, respectively. Experimental results show that AKB-JSCC achieves higher information reconstruction quality under different channel conditions. Finally, we discuss future evolution and research directions, providing a reference for portable, verifiable, and controllable research and deployment of agentic SemCom.

Semantic Forwarding and Codebook-Enhanced Model Division Multiple Access for Satellite-Terrestrial Networks

Satellite-terrestrial communications are severely constrained by high path loss, limited spectrum resources, and time-varying channel conditions, rendering conventional bit-level transmission schemes inefficient and fragile, particularly in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regimes. Semantic communication has emerged as a promising paradigm to address these challenges by prioritizing task-relevant information over exact bit recovery. In this paper, we propose a semantic forwarding-based semantic communication (SFSC) framework optimized for satellite-terrestrial networks. Specifically, we develop a vector-quantized joint semantic coding and modulation scheme, in which the semantic encoder and semantic codebook are jointly optimized to shape the constellation symbol distribution, improving channel adaptability and semantic compression efficiency. To mitigate noise accumulation and reduce on-board computational burden, we introduce a satellite semantic forwarding mechanism, enabling relay satellites to forward signals directly at the semantic level without full decoding and re-encoding. Furthermore, we design a channel-aware semantic reconstruction scheme based on feature-wise linear modulation (FiLM) to fuse the received SNR with semantic features, enhancing robustness under dynamic channel conditions. To support multi-user access, we further propose a codebook split-enhanced model division multiple access (CS-MDMA) method to improve spectral efficiency. Simulation results show that the proposed SFSC framework achieves a peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) gain of approximately 7.9 dB over existing benchmarks in the low-SNR regime, demonstrating its effectiveness for robust and spectrum-efficient semantic transmission in satellite-terrestrial networks.
