A Multi-view Divergence-Convergence Feature Augmentation Framework for Drug-related Microbes Prediction

In the study of drug function and precision medicine, identifying new drug-microbe associations is crucial. However, current methods isolate association and similarity analysis of drug and microbe, lacking effective inter-view optimization and coordinated multi-view feature fusion. In our study, a multi-view Divergence-Convergence Feature Augmentation framework for Drug-related Microbes Prediction (DCFA_DMP) is proposed, to better learn and integrate association information and similarity information. In the divergence phase, DCFA_DMP strengthens the complementarity and diversity between heterogeneous information and similarity information by performing Adversarial Learning method between the association network view and different similarity views, optimizing the feature space. In the convergence phase, a novel Bidirectional Synergistic Attention Mechanism is proposed to deeply synergize the complementary features between different views, achieving a deep fusion of the feature space. Moreover, Transformer graph learning is alternately applied on the drug-microbe heterogeneous graph, enabling each drug or microbe node to focus on the most relevant nodes. Numerous experiments demonstrate DCFA_DMP's significant performance in predicting drug-microbe associations. It also proves effectiveness in predicting associations for new drugs and microbes in cold start experiments, further confirming its stability and reliability in predicting potential drug-microbe associations.

HydraNet: Momentum-Driven State Space Duality for Multi-Granularity Tennis Tournaments Analysis

In tennis tournaments, momentum, a critical yet elusive phenomenon, reflects the dynamic shifts in performance of athletes that can decisively influence match outcomes. Despite its significance, momentum in terms of effective modeling and multi-granularity analysis across points, games, sets, and matches in tennis tournaments remains underexplored. In this study, we define a novel Momentum Score (MS) metric to quantify a player's momentum level in multi-granularity tennis tournaments, and design HydraNet, a momentum-driven state-space duality-based framework, to model MS by integrating thirty-two heterogeneous dimensions of athletes performance in serve, return, psychology and fatigue. HydraNet integrates a Hydra module, which builds upon a state-space duality (SSD) framework, capturing explicit momentum with a sliding-window mechanism and implicit momentum through cross-game state propagation. It also introduces a novel Versus Learning method to better enhance the adversarial nature of momentum between the two athletes at a macro level, along with a Collaborative-Adversarial Attention Mechanism (CAAM) for capturing and integrating intra-player and inter-player dynamic momentum at a micro level. Additionally, we construct a million-level tennis cross-tournament dataset spanning from 2012-2023 Wimbledon and 2013-2023 US Open, and validate the multi-granularity modeling capability of HydraNet for the MS metric on this dataset. Extensive experimental evaluations demonstrate that the MS metric constructed by the HydraNet framework provides actionable insights into how momentum impacts outcomes at different granularities, establishing a new foundation for momentum modeling and sports analysis. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work to explore and effectively model momentum across multiple granularities in professional tennis tournaments.

Internalizing sensing externality via matching and pricing for drive-by sensing taxi fleets

Drive-by sensing is a promising data collection paradigm that leverages the mobilities of vehicles to survey urban environments at low costs, contributing to the positive externality of urban transport activities. Focusing on e-hailing services, this paper explores the sensing potential of taxi fleets, by designing a joint matching and pricing scheme based on a double auction process. The matching module maximizes the sensing utility by prioritizing trips with high sensing potentials, and the pricing module allocates the corresponding social welfare according to the participants' contributions to the sensing utility. We show that the proposed scheme is allocative efficient, individually rational, budget balancing, envy-free, and group incentive compatible. The last notion guarantees that the participants, as a cohort, will end up with the same total utility regardless of mis-reporting on part of its members. Extensive numerical tests based on a real-world scenario reveal that the sensing externality can be well aligned with the level of service and budget balance. Various managerial insights regarding the applicability and efficacy of the proposed scheme are generated through scenario-based sensitivity analyses.

PowerPeeler: A Precise and General Dynamic Deobfuscation Method for PowerShell Scripts

PowerShell is a powerful and versatile task automation tool. Unfortunately, it is also widely abused by cyber attackers. To bypass malware detection and hinder threat analysis, attackers often employ diverse techniques to obfuscate malicious PowerShell scripts. Existing deobfuscation tools suffer from the limitation of static analysis, which fails to simulate the real deobfuscation process accurately. In this paper, we propose PowerPeeler. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first dynamic PowerShell script deobfuscation approach at the instruction level. It utilizes expression-related Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) nodes to identify potential obfuscated script pieces. Then, PowerPeeler correlates the AST nodes with their corresponding instructions and monitors the script's entire execution process. Subsequently, PowerPeeler dynamically tracks the execution of these instructions and records their execution results. Finally, PowerPeeler stringifies these results to replace the corresponding obfuscated script pieces and reconstruct the deobfuscated script. To evaluate the effectiveness of PowerPeeler, we collect 1,736,669 real-world malicious PowerShell samples with diversity obfuscation methods. We compare PowerPeeler with five state-of-the-art deobfuscation tools and GPT-4. The evaluation results demonstrate that PowerPeeler can effectively handle all well-known obfuscation methods. Additionally, the deobfuscation correctness rate of PowerPeeler reaches 95%, significantly surpassing that of other tools. PowerPeeler not only recovers the highest amount of sensitive data but also maintains a semantic consistency over 97%, which is also the best. Moreover, PowerPeeler effectively obtains the largest quantity of valid deobfuscated results within a limited time frame. Furthermore, PowerPeeler is extendable and can be used as a helpful tool for other cyber security solutions.

Performance Analysis of Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access in Free Space Optical Communication System

In this paper, a multipoint-to-point system consisting K users and a central node with non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) technique over free space optical (FSO) channel is characterized for two cases. In the case of guaranteed user's quality of service (QoS), the outage probability is derived. Another case is that user's QoS is determined by their own channel conditions. The developed analytical results of ergodic sum data rate show that NOMA outperforms orthogonal multiple access (OMA). Besides, the power control scheme is proposed, and results show that the power control scheme has great influence to the user's QoS. Monto Carlo simulation has been done, and it matches quite well with the theoretical analysis.
