Asymptotically Optimal Sequential Confidence Interval for the Gini Index Under Complex Household Survey Design with Sub-Stratification

We examine the optimality properties of the Gini index estimator under complex survey design involving stratification, clustering, and sub-stratification. While Darku et al. (Econometrics, 26, 2020) considered only stratification and clustering and did not provide theoretical guarantees, this study addresses these limitations by proposing two procedures - a purely sequential method and a two-stage method. Under suitable regularity conditions, we establish uniform continuity in probability for the proposed estimator, thereby contributing to the development of random central limit theorems under sequential sampling frameworks. Furthermore, we show that the resulting procedures satisfy both asymptotic first-order efficiency and asymptotic consistency. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed procedures achieve the desired optimality properties across diverse settings. The practical utility of the methodology is further illustrated through an empirical application using data collected by the National Sample Survey agency of India

A novel large-strain kinematic framework for fiber-reinforced laminated composites and its application in the characterization of damage

In this paper, a novel kinematic framework for fiber-reinforced composite materials is presented. For this purpose, we use the multiple natural configurations in conjunction with the multi-continuum theory of Bedford and Stern~(1972). Keeping the underlying physics of the proposed kinematics consistent. The proposed kinematics results in a three-term decomposition of the deformation gradient i.e. $\mathbf{F}=\mathbf{F}^e\mathbf{F}^r_\alpha\mathbf{F}^d_\alpha$, where $\alpha$ represents either the matrix or the fiber. After discussing the kinematic framework in detail, we use this new kinematic framework to characterize the damage contents associated with four damage mechanisms. These damage mechanisms are matrix cracking, fiber breakage, interfacial slip or debonding, and delamination. While the first two are derived by measuring the incompatibility of the pertinent configuration occupied by individual constituents, the latter two involve a relative displacement between either the constituents or the lamin\ae. The geometric interpretation corresponding to these damage mechanisms is also presented using tools from differential geometry. The derived damage contents can be used in developing an appropriate constitutive model for laminated composites undergoing damage.

Possibility of $\rho$ Meson Condensation in Neutron Star: Unified Approach of Chiral SU(3) Model and QCD Sum Rules

In the present work the conjunction of chiral SU(3) model with QCD sum rules is employed to explore the possibility of $\rho$ meson condensation in neutron stars. The quark and gluon condensates in terms of which the in-medium masses of $\rho$ mesons can be expressed are calculated using the chiral SU(3) model in the charge neutral matter which is relevant for neutron stars. It is observed that condition of $\rho$ meson condensation is satisfied for the density of about 7$\rho_{0}$, where $\rho_{0}$ is the nuclear saturation density. In the end, a brief qualitative discussion of the magnetic field is also involved to check out for the further possibility of $\rho$ meson condensation.
