A limiter-based approach to construct high-order fully-discrete entropy stable explicit DG schemes for hyperbolic conservation laws

This paper presents a class of novel high-order fully-discrete entropy stable (ES) discontinuous Galerkin (DG) schemes with explicit time discretization. The proposed methodology exploits a critical observation from [4] that the cell averages of classical DG solutions with forward Euler time stepping satisfy an ``entropy-stable-like'' property. Building on this result, fully-discrete entropy stability is rigorously enforced through a simple Zhang--Shu-type scaling limiter [45] applied as a post-processing step, without modifying the underlying spatial discretization. Furthermore, the proposed methodology can simultaneously enforce multiple cell entropy inequalities, a capability unavailable in existing ES DG schemes. High-order accuracy in time is achieved by using strong-stability-preserving (SSP) multistep methods. Theoretically, we prove that the proposed scheme indeed maintains high-order accuracy and establish a Lax--Wendroff-type theorem guaranteeing that the limit of the numerical solutions, if it exists, satisfies the desired entropy inequality. Extensive numerical tests for scalar equations and systems, including the nonconvex Buckley--Leverett problem and extreme examples of Euler equations, demonstrate optimal accuracy, enforcement of multiple entropy conditions, and strong robustness.

Terahertz Beam Squint Mitigation via Six-Dimensional Movable Antennas

Analog beamforming holds great potential for future terahertz (THz) communications due to its ability to generate high-gain directional beams with low-cost phase shifters. However, conventional analog beamforming may suffer substantial performance degradation in wideband systems due to the beam squint effect. Instead of relying on high-cost true-time delayers, we propose an efficient six-dimensional movable antenna (6DMA) architecture to mitigate the beam-squint effect. In particular, we study a wideband wide-beam coverage problem in this paper, aiming to maximize the minimum beamforming gain over a given range of azimuth/elevation angles and frequencies by jointly optimizing the analog beamforming vector, the MA positions within a two-dimensional (2D) region, and the three-dimensional (3D) rotation angles of the antenna array. However, this problem is non-convex and intractable to solve optimally due to the coupling of the spatial and frequency domains and that of the antenna weights, positions and rotation. To tackle this problem, we first derive an optimal solution to it in a special case with azimuth or elevation angle coverage only. It is shown that rotating a uniform linear array (ULA) is sufficient to achieve global optimality and eliminate beam-squint effects. While for other general cases, an alternating optimization (AO) algorithm is proposed to obtain a high-quality suboptimal solution, where the antennas' beamforming weights, positions, and rotation angles are alternately optimized by combining successive convex approximation (SCA), sequential update with Gibbs sampling (GS), and hybrid coarse- and fine-grained search. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed scheme can significantly outperform conventional antenna arrays without antenna movement or rotation, thus offering a cost-effective solution for wideband transmission over THz bands.

E-CARE: An Efficient LLM-based Commonsense-Augmented Framework for E-Commerce

Finding relevant products given a user query is pivotal to an e-commerce platform, as it can drive shopping behavior and generate revenue. The challenge lies in accurately predicting the correlation between queries and products. Recently, mining commonsense knowledge between queries and products using Large Language Models (LLMs) has shown promising results in boosting recommendation performance. However, such methods incur high costs due to intensive real-time LLM decoding during inference, as well as human annotation and potential Supervised Fine-Tuning (SFT) during training. To boost efficiency while leveraging LLMs' commonsense reasoning for various e-commerce tasks, we propose the Efficient Commonsense-Augmented Recommendation Enhancer (E-CARE), which requires neither SFT nor human annotation. The recommendation models augmented with E-CARE can access commonsense reasoning by leveraging a reasoning factor graph that encodes most of the reasoning schema from powerful LLMs, without requiring real-time LLM decoding. The experiments on 2 downstream tasks show improvements of up to 12.1% in precision@5.

LLM Nepotism in Organizational Governance

Large language models are increasingly used to support organizational decisions from hiring to governance, raising fairness concerns in AI-assisted evaluation. Prior work has focused mainly on demographic bias and broader preference effects, rather than on whether evaluators reward expressed trust in AI itself. We study this phenomenon as LLM Nepotism, an attitude-driven bias channel in which favorable signals toward AI are rewarded even when they are not relevant to role-related merit. We introduce a two-phase simulation pipeline that first isolates AI-trust preference in qualification-matched resume screening and then examines its downstream effects in board-level decision making. Across several popular LLMs, we find that resume screeners tend to favor candidates with positive or non-critical attitudes toward AI, discriminating skeptical, human-centered counterparts. These biases suggest a loophole: LLM-based hiring can produce more homogeneous AI-trusting organizations, whose decision-makers exhibit greater scrutiny failure and delegation to AI agents, approving flawed proposals more readily while favoring AI-delegation initiatives. To mitigate this behavior, we additionally study prompt-based mitigation and propose Merit-Attitude Factorization, which separates non-merit AI attitude from merit-based evaluation and attenuates this bias across experiments.

Soft cutoffs in the covariant phase space of dynamical reference frames

We construct covariant theories incorporating fluctuating boundaries and soft cutoffs by introducing dynamical reference frames (DRFs). This framework generalizes the covariant action from a hard-cutoff to a soft-cutoff formulation, utilizing smearing functions and their corresponding operator expansions. This generalization initially leads to a loss of diffeomorphism covariance, which is recovered solely by restricting the DRFs, along with both their associated and linear MCFs, to specific forms, and by imposing suitable boundary conditions on the smearing functions. Satisfying these conditions restores covariance in relational spacetime, thereby enabling the consistent definition of subsystems. Within the covariant phase space formalism, we derive the charges of the soft-cutoff theory while explicitly addressing the inherent ambiguities arising from the boundary Lagrangian. We demonstrate that introducing an additional pointwise dependence is essential to resolve these ambiguities and ensure the integrability of the charges, even under fluctuating boundary conditions. Finally, in the context of General Relativity (GR), we establish the conditions under which holographic renormalization results at the asymptotic boundary coincide with the Noether charges derived from our soft-cutoff procedure.

SpecSteer: Synergizing Local Context and Global Reasoning for Efficient Personalized Generation

Realizing personalized intelligence faces a core dilemma: sending user history to centralized large language models raises privacy concerns, while on-device small language models lack the reasoning capacity required for high-quality generation. Our pilot study shows that purely local enhancements remain insufficient to reliably bridge this gap. We therefore propose SpecSteer, an asymmetric collaborative inference framework that synergizes private on-device context with cloud-scale reasoning. SpecSteer casts collaboration as Bayesian knowledge fusion and repurposes speculative decoding as a distributed alignment protocol, yielding a Draft--Verify--Recover pipeline: the on-device model drafts personalized sequences; the cloud validates via a ratio-based mechanism that decouples reasoning verification from private context, filtering logical flaws without accessing raw user context; upon rejection, a steering recovery injects local intent during correction. Experiments demonstrate that SpecSteer successfully closes the reasoning gap and achieves superior personalized generation performance, while delivering a 2.36x speedup over standard baselines.

Rethinking Mutual Coupling in Movable Antenna MIMO Systems

Movable antenna (MA) systems have emerged as a promising technology for future wireless communication systems. The movement of antennas gives rise to mutual coupling (MC) effects, which have been previously ignored and can be exploited to enhance the capacity of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. To this end, we first model an MA-enabled point-to-point MIMO communication system with MC effects using a circuit-theoretic framework. The capacity maximization problem is then formulated as a non-concave optimization problem and solved via a block coordinate ascent (BCA)-based algorithm. The subproblem of optimizing MA positions is challenging due to the presence of the analytically intractable MC matrices. To overcome this difficulty, we develop a trust region method (TRM)-based algorithm to optimize MA positions, wherein Sylvester equations are employed to compute the derivatives of the inverse square roots of the MC matrices. Simulation results show significant capacity gains from leveraging MC effects, primarily due to customizable MC matrices and superdirectivity.

Structure-preserving nodal DG method for Euler equations with gravity II: general equilibrium states

We develop an entropy-stable nodal discontinuous Galerkin (DG) scheme for the Euler equations with gravity, which is also well-balanced with respect to general equilibrium solutions, including both hydrostatic and moving equilibria. The core of our approach lies in a novel treatment of the gravitational source term, combining entropy-conservative numerical fluxes with a linear entropy correction. In addition, the proposed formulation is carefully designed to ensure compatibility with a positivity-preserving limiter. We provide a rigorous theoretical analysis to establish the accuracy and structure-preserving properties of the proposed scheme. Extensive numerical experiments confirm the robustness and efficiency of the scheme.

Efficient Personalized Reranking with Semi-Autoregressive Generation and Online Knowledge Distillation

Generative models offer a promising paradigm for the final stage reranking in multi-stage recommender systems, with the ability to capture inter-item dependencies within reranked lists. However, their practical deployment still faces two key challenges: (1) an inherent conflict between achieving high generation quality and ensuring low-latency inference, making it difficult to balance the two, and (2) insufficient interaction between user and item features in existing methods. To address these challenges, we propose a novel Personalized Semi-Autoregressive with online knowledge Distillation (PSAD) framework for reranking. In this framework, the teacher model adopts a semi-autoregressive generator to balance generation quality and efficiency, while its ranking knowledge is distilled online into a lightweight scoring network during joint training, enabling real-time and efficient inference. Furthermore, we propose a User Profile Network (UPN) that injects user intent and models interest dynamics, enabling deeper interactions between users and items. Extensive experiments conducted on three large-scale public datasets demonstrate that PSAD significantly outperforms state-of-the-art baselines in both ranking performance and inference efficiency.

Evidence for Vortex Rings with Multiquantum Circulation in He II

Quantized vortex dynamics in superfluid $^4$He (He~II) are widely regarded as well established: circulation is quantized in units of $κ=h/m_4$, vortices carrying more than one quantum are expected to split into singly quantized filaments, and vortex rings shrink while accelerating due to dissipation from thermal-quasiparticle scattering. Using particle tracking velocimetry with frozen deuterium tracers, we uncover rare vortex-bound particle events that disrupt this canonical picture. In a class of events exhibiting the acceleration characteristic of shrinkage driven vortex ring motion, the measured kinematics cannot be reconciled with a singly quantized ring. Instead, they require an effective circulation $nκ$ with $n>1$, directly challenging the standard expectation that multiquantum vortices are short lived. A more prosaic possibility is that the inferred $nκ$ arises from a bundle of closely spaced singly quantized rings, which could generate similar large-scale motion. However, this scenario is disfavored by vortex-filament simulations that show rapid bundle dispersion. Furthermore, the persistence of particle trapping at the observed high speeds suggests a much deeper core trapping potential, consistent only with a truly multiquantum core. Together, these results point to anomalously long-lived multiquantum rings, a striking puzzle that calls for dedicated scrutiny beyond the prevailing paradigm.

WirelessAgent++: Automated Agentic Workflow Design and Benchmarking for Wireless Networks

The integration of large language models (LLMs) into wireless networks has sparked growing interest in building autonomous AI agents for wireless tasks. However, existing approaches rely heavily on manually crafted prompts and static agentic workflows, a process that is labor-intensive, unscalable, and often suboptimal. In this paper, we propose WirelessAgent++, a framework that automates the design of agentic workflows for various wireless tasks. By treating each workflow as an executable code composed of modular operators, WirelessAgent++ casts agent design as a program search problem and solves it with a domain-adapted Monte Carlo Tree Search (MCTS) algorithm. Moreover, we establish WirelessBench, a standardized multi-dimensional benchmark suite comprising Wireless Communication Homework (WCHW), Network Slicing (WCNS), and Mobile Service Assurance (WCMSA), covering knowledge reasoning, code-augmented tool use, and multi-step decision-making. Experiments demonstrate that \wap{} autonomously discovers superior workflows, achieving test scores of $78.37\%$ (WCHW), $90.95\%$ (WCNS), and $97.07\%$ (WCMSA), with a total search cost below $\$ 5$ per task. Notably, our approach outperforms state-of-the-art prompting baselines by up to $31\%$ and general-purpose workflow optimizers by $11.1\%$, validating its effectiveness in generating robust, self-evolving wireless agents. FuXi-Linear: Unleashing the Power of Linear Attention in Long-term Time-aware Sequential Recommendation

Modern recommendation systems primarily rely on attention mechanisms with quadratic complexity, which limits their ability to handle long user sequences and slows down inference. While linear attention is a promising alternative, existing research faces three critical challenges: (1) temporal signals are often overlooked or integrated via naive coupling that causes mutual interference between temporal and semantic signals while neglecting behavioral periodicity; (2) insufficient positional information provided by existing linear frameworks; and (3) a primary focus on short sequences and shallow architectures. To address these issues, we propose FuXi-Linear, a linear-complexity model designed for efficient long-sequence recommendation. Our approach introduces two key components: (1) a Temporal Retention Channel that independently computes periodic attention weights using temporal data, preventing crosstalk between temporal and semantic signals; (2) a Linear Positional Channel that integrates positional information through learnable kernels within linear complexity. Moreover, we demonstrate that FuXi-Linear exhibits a robust power-law scaling property at a thousand-length scale, a characteristic largely unexplored in prior linear recommendation studies. Extensive experiments on sequences of several thousand tokens demonstrate that FuXi-Linear outperforms state-of-the-art models in recommendation quality, while achieving up to 10$\times$ speedup in the prefill stage and up to 21$\times$ speedup in the decode stage compared to competitive baselines. Our code has been released in a public repository https://github.com/USTC-StarTeam/fuxi-linear.

Multi-modal Data Driven Virtual Base Station Construction for Massive MIMO Beam Alignment

Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) is a key enabler for the high data rates required by the sixth-generation networks, yet its performance hinges on effective beam management with low training overhead. This paper proposes an interpretable framework to tackle beam alignment in mixed line-of-sight (LoS) and non-line-of-sight (NLoS) propagation environments. Our approach utilizes multi-modal data to construct virtual base stations (VBSs), which are geometrically defined as mirror images of the base station across reflecting surfaces reconstructed from 3D LiDAR points. These VBSs provide a sparse and spatial representation of the dominant features of the wireless environment. Based on the constructed VBSs, we develop a VBS-assisted beam alignment scheme comprising coarse channel reconstruction followed by partial beam training. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves near-optimal performance in terms of spectral efficiency.

Silent Until Sparse: Backdoor Attacks on Semi-Structured Sparsity

Semi-structured (2:4) sparsity is a widely adopted pruning method in modern hardware and software ecosystems (e.g., NVIDIA Sparse Tensor Cores and PyTorch), achieving up to 2X faster inference and reduced memory footprint with negligible accuracy loss. It removes two out of every four contiguous weights, using permutations to ensure the largest-magnitude weights are retained. In this work, we show that this predictable mechanism can be exploited to design Silent Until Sparse (SUS), a novel compression-activated backdoor attack tailored to the 2:4 sparsity regime. SUS employs a two-phase training procedure that modifies (i) the weights that will be retained after pruning to embed the backdoor, and (ii) the weights that will be pruned to hide it in the dense model. SUS also provides formal guarantees that the attack will be successfully activated after sparsification. Experiments show that SUS is largely effective against semi-structured sparsification across both hardware-accelerated and software pipelines, outperforming existing compression-aware backdoor attacks, bypassing standard defenses, and even being robust to user-side fine-tuning.

Federated Reasoning Distillation Framework with Model Learnability-Aware Data Allocation

Data allocation plays a critical role in federated large language model (LLM) and small language models (SLMs) reasoning collaboration. Nevertheless, existing data allocation methods fail to address an under-explored challenge in collaboration: bidirectional model learnability gap, where client-side SLMs cannot identify high-reward samples matching their learnability constraints for effective knowledge transfer from LLMs, while LLMs struggle to select samples contributing novel knowledge beyond their existing data. Furthermore, these collaboration frameworks face another key challenge: domain-agnostic reasoning transfer, where existing reasoning transfer methods fail to flexibly adapt to the local domain data, preventing SLMs from effectively acquiring step-by-step reasoning abilities within from general LLM. To address these challenges, we propose LaDa, a federated reasoning distillation framework with model learnability-aware data allocation. It introduces a model learnability-aware data filter that adaptively allocates high-reward samples based on the learnability gap between each SLM and LLM pair, effectively facilitating bidirectional knowledge transfer. We further design a domain adaptive reasoning distillation method that aligns joint probabilities of reasoning paths on filtered high-reward samples through contrastive distillation learning between SLM and LLM, enabling SLM to capture underlying reasoning patterns under local data distribution. LaDa operates as a plug-in module for existing collaboration frameworks, adapting knowledge transfer based on model learnability gaps.

The Next Paradigm Is User-Centric Agent, Not Platform-Centric Service

Modern digital services have evolved into indispensable tools, driving the present large-scale information systems. Yet, the prevailing platform-centric model, where services are optimized for platform-driven metrics such as engagement and conversion, often fails to align with users' true needs. While platform technologies have advanced significantly-especially with the integration of large language models (LLMs)-we argue that improvements in platform service quality do not necessarily translate to genuine user benefit. Instead, platform-centric services prioritize provider objectives over user welfare, resulting in conflicts against user interests. This paper argues that the future of digital services should shift from a platform-centric to a user-centric agent. These user-centric agents prioritize privacy, align with user-defined goals, and grant users control over their preferences and actions. With advancements in LLMs and on-device intelligence, the realization of this vision is now feasible. This paper explores the opportunities and challenges in transitioning to user-centric intelligence, presents a practical device-cloud pipeline for its implementation, and discusses the necessary governance and ecosystem structures for its adoption.

Discrete Adjoint Schrödinger Bridge Sampler

Learning discrete neural samplers is challenging due to the lack of gradients and combinatorial complexity. While stochastic optimal control (SOC) and Schrödinger bridge (SB) provide principled solutions, efficient SOC solvers like adjoint matching (AM), which excel in continuous domains, remain unexplored for discrete spaces. We bridge this gap by revealing that the core mechanism of AM is $\mathit{state}\text{-}\mathit{space~agnostic}$, and introduce $\mathbf{discrete~ASBS}$, a unified framework that extends AM and adjoint Schrödinger bridge sampler (ASBS) to discrete spaces. Theoretically, we analyze the optimality conditions of the discrete SB problem and its connection to SOC, identifying a necessary cyclic group structure on the state space to enable this extension. Empirically, discrete ASBS achieves competitive sample quality with significant advantages in training efficiency and scalability.
