PresentAgent-2: Towards Generalist Multimodal Presentation Agents

Presentation generation is moving beyond static slide creation toward end-to-end presentation video generation with research grounding, multimodal media, and interactive delivery. We introduce PresentAgent-2, an agentic framework for generating presentation videos from user queries. Given an open-ended user query and a selected presentation mode, PresentAgent-2 first summarizes the query into a focused topic and performs deep research over presentation-friendly sources to collect multimodal resources, including relevant text, images, GIFs, and videos. It then constructs presentation slides, generates mode-specific scripts, and composes slides, audio, and dynamic media into a complete presentation video. PresentAgent-2 supports three independent presentation modes within a unified framework: Single Presentation, which generates a single-speaker narrated presentation video; Discussion, which creates a multi-speaker presentation with structured speaker roles, such as for asking guiding questions, explaining concepts, clarifying details, and summarizing key points; and Interaction, which independently supports answering audience questions grounded in the generated slides, scripts, retrieved evidence, and presentation context. To evaluate these capabilities, we build a multimodal presentation benchmark covering single presentation, discussion, and interaction scenarios, with task-specific evaluation criteria for content quality, media relevance, dynamic media use, dialogue naturalness, and interaction grounding. Overall, PresentAgent-2 extends presentation generation from document-dependent slide creation to query-driven, research-grounded presentation video generation with multimodal media, dialogue, and interaction. Subjective and Objective Quality-of-Experience Evaluation Study for Live Video Streaming

In recent years, live video streaming has gained widespread popularity across various social media platforms. Quality of experience (QoE), which reflects end-users' satisfaction and overall experience, plays a critical role for media service providers to optimize large-scale live compression and transmission strategies to achieve perceptually optimal rate-distortion trade-off. Although many QoE metrics for video-on-demand (VoD) have been proposed, there remain significant challenges in developing QoE metrics for live video streaming. To bridge this gap, we conduct a comprehensive study of subjective and objective QoE evaluations for live video streaming. For the subjective QoE study, we introduce the first live video streaming QoE dataset, TaoLive QoE, which consists of $42$ source videos collected from real live broadcasts and $1,155$ corresponding distorted ones degraded due to a variety of streaming distortions, including conventional streaming distortions such as compression, stalling, as well as live streaming-specific distortions like frame skipping, variable frame rate, etc. Subsequently, a human study was conducted to derive subjective QoE scores of videos in the TaoLive QoE dataset. For the objective QoE study, we benchmark existing QoE models on the TaoLive QoE dataset as well as publicly available QoE datasets for VoD scenarios, highlighting that current models struggle to accurately assess video QoE, particularly for live content. Hence, we propose an end-to-end QoE evaluation model, Tao-QoE, which integrates multi-scale semantic features and optical flow-based motion features to predicting a retrospective QoE score, eliminating reliance on statistical quality of service (QoS) features.

Natural Gradient Bayesian Filtering: Geometry-Aware Filter for Dynamical Systems

Bayesian filtering is a cornerstone of state estimation in complex systems such as aerospace systems, yet exact solutions are available only for linear Gaussian models. In practice, nonlinear systems are handled through tractable approximations, with Gaussian filters such as the extended and unscented Kalman filters being among the most widely used methods. This tutorial revisits Gaussian filtering from an information-geometric perspective, viewing the prediction and measurement update steps as inference procedures over state distributions. Within this framework, we introduce a geometry-aware Gaussian filtering approach that leverages natural gradient descent on the statistical manifold of Gaussian distributions. The resulting Natural Gradient Gaussian Approximation (NANO) filter iteratively refines the posterior mean and covariance while respecting the intrinsic geometry of the Gaussian family and preserving the positive definiteness of the covariance matrix. We further highlight fundamental connections to the classical Kalman filtering, showing that a single natural-gradient step exactly recovers the Kalman measurement update in the linear-Gaussian case. The practical implications of the proposed framework are illustrated through case studies in representative nonlinear estimation problems, including satellite attitude estimation, simultaneous localization and mapping, and state estimation for robotic systems including quadruped and humanoid robots.

Understanding and Improving Length Generalization in Hierarchical Sparse Attention Models

Effectively processing long contexts is a critical challenge for language models. While standard Transformers are limited by quadratic complexity and poor length extrapolation, alternative architectures like sliding window attention and state space models sacrifice the ability to effectively utilize the full context due to their fixed-size memory. Chunk-based sparse attention has emerged as a promising paradigm for extreme length generalization, yet the key architectural principles underpinning its success are not yet fully understood. In this work, we present a systematic dissection of these models to identify the core components driving their performance. Through a unified framework and comprehensive ablation studies, we demonstrate that a combination of three design principles is critical: (1) an expressive, non-linear Chunk Encoder with a dedicated CLS token to produce representations for retrieval; (2) a Bypassing Residual Path to stably integrate retrieved global information without it being overridden by the local residual stream; and (3) enforced selection sparsity during pre-training to bridge the train-test distribution gap. We provide a theoretical motivation for intra-chunk information processing and landmark generation. By combining these principles, we establish a new state-of-the-art for training-free length extrapolation, successfully generalizing models trained on a 4K context to 32 million tokens on RULER and BABILong. Our findings provide a clear and empirically-grounded set of design principles for developing future, highly-capable long-context language models.

SnapMLA: Efficient Long-Context MLA Decoding via Hardware-Aware FP8 Quantized Pipelining

While FP8 attention has shown substantial promise in innovations like FlashAttention-3, its integration into the decoding phase of the DeepSeek Multi-head Latent Attention (MLA) architecture presents notable challenges. These challenges include numerical heterogeneity arising from the decoupling of positional embeddings, misalignment of quantization scales in FP8 PV GEMM, and the need for optimized system-level support. In this paper, we introduce SnapMLA, an FP8 MLA decoding framework optimized to improve long-context efficiency through the following hardware-aware algorithm-kernel co-optimization techniques: (i) RoPE-Aware Per-Token KV Quantization: Motivated by our analysis of the heterogeneous quantization sensitivity inherent to the MLA KV cache, this approach preserves the RoPE part in high precision. Furthermore, per-token granularity is employed to align with the autoregressive decoding process and maintain quantization accuracy. (ii) Quantized PV Computation Pipeline Reconstruction: Addresses the misalignment of quantization scales in FP8 PV computation caused by the shared KV structure of the MLA. (iii) End-to-End Dataflow Optimization: Establishes an efficient data read-and-write workflow using specialized kernels, ensuring streamlined data flow and improved performance. Extensive experiments on state-of-the-art MLA LLMs show that SnapMLA achieves up to a 1.91x improvement in throughput on long-output decoding workloads while maintaining near-parity benchmark quality compared with the BF16 baseline on the evaluated reasoning and code-generation benchmarks. Observation of quantum multi-Mpemba effect in a trapped-ion system

The quantum Mpemba effect (ME) in Markovian systems is conventionally explained by a smaller overlap between the initial state and the slowest decay mode (SDM). Such state, initially farther away from equilibrium or steady state, relaxes faster than closer ones, resulting to a crossing of their trajectories. This picture, by neglecting the transient dynamics, holds in the long-time limit. Here we experimentally observe multiple trajectory crossings (multi-ME) in the relaxation dynamics of a trapped ion. Such novel dynamics takes place in a unusual scenario where the initial state instead has a larger overlap with the SDM. We develop a theoretical framework based on relaxation speed to understand the multi-ME. We show that the initial relaxation speed is governed by the fastest decay mode, which together with the SDM overlap gives a phase diagram that reveals both the occurrence and the types of quantum ME observed in our experiment. Our study goes beyond the simple picture based on the long-time limit, tracks continuously the quantum ME dynamics, and establishes a comprehensive framework to describe the transient quantum relaxation.

Sobolev-Regularized Objective Functions for Robust Pairwise Alignment of Functional Data

Functional data registration is a critical challenge in modern statistics, essential for separating phase variability from amplitude variability. While derivative-based frameworks offer mathematically elegant solutions, their dependence on signal velocities renders them susceptible to additive noise. This study proposes and evaluates a family of robust, Sobolev-regularized objective functions for the pairwise alignment of functional data, operating entirely within the original function space to avoid the need for numerical differentiation of the data. We define our optimization over a second-order Sobolev space and utilize the Centered Log-Ratio (CLR) transform to represent the warping functions. By penalizing both the velocity and acceleration of the centered log-derivative, this geometric approach preempts degenerate "pinching" artifacts and ensures the resulting warps are strictly monotonic, valid diffeomorphisms. In practice, this allows for highly efficient, unconstrained optimization within a finite-dimensional space. We systematically investigate four distinct pairwise data mismatch formulations: a Standard L2 baseline, a Symmetric L2 formulation, an Isometry (L2-preserving) mapping, and a Jacobian-weighted L2 functional. We establish robust theoretical foundations for these methods, proving the existence of optimal warps and the asymptotic consistency of the finite-dimensional estimators. Our results demonstrate that this CLR-regularized framework offers a powerful, computationally scalable, and noise-robust alternative to traditional derivative-based registration.

Entanglement in a molecular Lieb-lattice quantum computing circuit: A tensor network study

Here a finite-Lieb-lattice quantum computing circuit consisting of spin-1/2 quantum bits (qubits) and triplet couplers is designed. Important gradient - quantum entanglement - is analysed. This type of design could be realised in a vast range of molecules containing multiple radicals, in which the communications among qubits are controlled by the optically driven triplets. The von Neumann entanglement entropy, reduced density matrices, and spin-spin correlations were computed using tensor-network methods by varying the magnetic anisotropy and external magnetic field. This work uncovers the rich entanglement patterns, quantum phase transitions, and tunable spin coherence in this mixed spin system, designed for molecular spin-based quantum computing. These findings have important implications for triplet-mediated molecular self-assembly quantum computing circuit, especially for the entangling gate based on molecules. This work would provide a theoretical cornerstone for the experimental realisation of scalable molecule-based quantum computing circuits.

2026 Roadmap on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Smart Manufacturing

The evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) is reshaping smart manufacturing by providing new capabilities for efficiency, adaptability, and autonomy across industrial value chains. However, the deployment of AI and ML in industrial settings still faces critical challenges, including the complexity of industrial big data, effective data management, integration with heterogeneous sensing and control systems, and the demand for trustworthy, explainable, and reliable operation in high-stakes industrial environments. In this roadmap, we present a comprehensive perspective on the foundations, applications, and emerging directions of AI and ML in smart manufacturing. It is structured in three parts. The first highlights the foundations and trends that frame the evolution of AI in smart manufacturing. The second focuses on key topics where AI is already enabling advances, including industrial big data analytics, advanced sensing and perception, autonomous systems, additive and laser-based manufacturing, digital twins, robotics, supply chain and logistics optimization, and sustainable manufacturing. The third section explores non-traditional ML approaches that are opening new frontiers, such as physics-informed AI, generative AI, semantic AI, advanced digital twins, explainable AI, RAMS, data-centric metrology, LLMs, and foundation models for highly connected and complex manufacturing systems. By identifying both opportunities and remaining barriers across these areas, this roadmap outlines the advances needed in methods, integration strategies, and industrial adoption. We hope this roadmap will serve as a guide for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to accelerate innovation, align academic and industrial priorities, and ensure that AI-driven smart manufacturing delivers reliable, sustainable, and scalable impact for the future of manufacturing ecosystems.

Training the Knowledge Base through Evidence Distillation and Write-Back Enrichment

The knowledge base in a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) system is typically assembled once and never revised, even though the facts a query requires are often fragmented across documents and buried in irrelevant content. We argue that the knowledge base should be treated as a trainable component and propose WriteBack-RAG, a framework that uses labeled examples to identify where retrieval succeeds, isolate the relevant documents, and distill them into compact knowledge units that are indexed alongside the original corpus. Because the method modifies only the corpus, it can be applied once as an offline preprocessing step and combined with any RAG pipeline. Across four RAG methods, six benchmarks, and two LLM backbones, WriteBack-RAG improves every evaluated setting, with gains averaging +2.14%. Cross-method transfer experiments further show that the distilled knowledge benefits RAG pipelines other than the one used to produce it, confirming that the improvement resides in the corpus itself.

Hybrid Integration of Quantum Dot Single Photon Sources with Lithium Tantalate Photonics for On Chip Routing

A promising pathway towards scalable quantum photonic processors involves the simultaneous integration of deterministic single-photon sources, low-loss photonic circuitry, and fast reconfigurability. Thin-film lithium tantalate on insulator (LTOI) offers an exceptional electro-optic response and low optical loss at 900 nm wavelength band, yet its lack of efficient quantum emitters has hindered progress toward fully integrated quantum technologies. Here, we demonstrate heterogeneous integration of indium arsenide quantum dots (QDs) with low-loss reconfigurable LTOI waveguides using micro-transfer printing. By directly butt-coupling tapered gallium arsenide waveguides with inversely tapered LTOI waveguides, we achieve robust and alignment-tolerant inter-waveguide coupling. The hybrid chip operates at cryogenic temperatures, enabling deterministic routing of successively emitted single photons from the QDs with a halfwave voltage-length product, confirming the cryogenic stability of LTOI's electro-optic coefficient. These results establish the first demonstration of high-speed on-chip routing of single photons with hybrid QD-LTOI circuits, providing a scalable pathway toward integrated quantum photonic processors.

It Depends: Re_Authoring Play Through Clinical Reasoning in Wearable AR Rehab Games

Augmented reality games hold promise for rehabilitation, yet most remain confined to laboratory studies with limited clinical uptake. Recent advances in spatial computing, especially lightweight, glasses_form_factor AR, create a timely opportunity to embed rehabilitative play into clinical practice and daily contexts. To investigate this potential, we systematically reviewed 132 applications and conducted playtesting with 14 licensed physical therapists. Our analysis revealed three ways therapists re_authored AR games: co_authored play (reshaping movements, progressions, and difficulty), situated play (adapting across specialties, conditions, and contexts), and dual play (mediating both physical recovery and psychological support). We reframe therapists' frequent phrase_It depends_as a generative design principle. This study contributes a clinical reasoning_based framework and design principles and guidelines for creating personalized, situated forms of play that align with therapists' everyday workflows and inform future lab_to_clinic translation.

Reimagining Wearable AR Gesture Design: Physical Therapy Reasoning in Everyday Contexts

Lightweight augmented reality (AR) glasses are increasingly entering everyday use, extending interaction design beyond short, isolated sessions. However, most existing gesture vocabularies are inherited from VR headsets or early AR goggles. These systems tend to prioritize recognizer accuracy while overlooking fatigue, sustainability, and social legibility in daily contexts. To address this gap, we collaborated with physical therapists (PTs) to reimagine gesture design for everyday AR, drawing on their expertise in safe and sustainable movement. Through a review of 104 AR applications, we identified 15 common gesture intents and implemented an on-device gesture generator. Ten licensed physical therapists, with an average of 14.8 years of professional experience, then shaped these gesture intents through three iterative stages: unaided gesture performance, PT-guided gesture substitution, and stage-aware card sorting. This work contributes (1) a PT-informed gesture translation method, (2) the Everyday-AR Golden Ergonomic Canvas, and (3) a stage-aware social legibility framework that illustrates how gesture suitability shifts with social readability. Together, these contributions provide a recognizer-agnostic reference framework for designing sustainable and socially coherent gesture vocabularies for lightweight AR glasses.

Aligning Large Language Models with Searcher Preferences

The paradigm shift from item-centric ranking to answer-centric synthesis is redefining the role of search engines. While recent industrial progress has applied generative techniques to closed-set item ranking in e-commerce, research and deployment of open-ended generative search on large content platforms remain limited. This setting introduces challenges, including robustness to noisy retrieval, non-negotiable safety guarantees, and alignment with diverse user needs. In this work, we introduce SearchLLM, the first large language model (LLM) for open-ended generative search. We design a hierarchical, multi-dimensional reward system that separates bottom-line constraints, including factual grounding, basic answer quality and format compliance, from behavior optimization objectives that promote robustness to noisy retrieval and alignment with user needs. Concretely, our reward model evaluates responses conditioned on the user query, session history, and retrieved evidence set, combining rule-based checks with human-calibrated LLM judges to produce an interpretable score vector over these dimensions. We introduce a Gated Aggregation Strategy to derive the training reward for optimizing SearchLLM with Group Relative Policy Optimization (GRPO). We deploy SearchLLM in the AI search entry of RedNote. Offline evaluations and online A/B tests show improved generation quality and user engagement, increasing Valid Consumption Rate by 1.03% and reducing Re-search Rate by 2.81%, while upholding strict safety and reliability standards.

ReFusion: A Diffusion Large Language Model with Parallel Autoregressive Decoding

Autoregressive models (ARMs) are hindered by slow sequential inference. While masked diffusion models (MDMs) offer a parallel alternative, they suffer from critical drawbacks: high computational overhead from precluding Key-Value (KV) caching, and incoherent generation arising from learning dependencies over an intractable space of token combinations. To address these limitations, we introduce \textsc{ReFusion}, a novel masked diffusion model that integrates sequence reorganization into the causal attention framework. By elevating parallel decoding from the token level to a higher slot level, \textsc{ReFusion} interleaves inter-slot diffusion-based selection with intra-slot autoregressive infilling, while reordering newly generated slots ahead of the remaining masks after each iteration. Consequently, this design simultaneously unlocks full KV cache reuse and reduces learning complexity from an intractable token combination space to a manageable slot-level permutation space. Extensive experiments on seven diverse benchmarks show that \textsc{ReFusion} not only overwhelmingly surpasses prior MDMs with a 34\% performance gain and an over 18$\times$ speedup on average, but also bridges the performance gap to strong ARMs while maintaining a 2.33$\times$ average speedup.

DriveMamba: Task-Centric Scalable State Space Model for Efficient End-to-End Autonomous Driving

Recent advances towards End-to-End Autonomous Driving (E2E-AD) have been often devoted on integrating modular designs into a unified framework for joint optimization e.g. UniAD, which follow a sequential paradigm (i.e., perception-prediction-planning) based on separable Transformer decoders and rely on dense BEV features to encode scene representations. However, such manual ordering design can inevitably cause information loss and cumulative errors, lacking flexible and diverse relation modeling among different modules and sensors. Meanwhile, insufficient training of image backbone and quadratic-complexity of attention mechanism also hinder the scalability and efficiency of E2E-AD system to handle spatiotemporal input. To this end, we propose DriveMamba, a Task-Centric Scalable paradigm for efficient E2E-AD, which integrates dynamic task relation modeling, implicit view correspondence learning and long-term temporal fusion into a single-stage Unified Mamba decoder. Specifically, both extracted image features and expected task outputs are converted into token-level sparse representations in advance, which are then sorted by their instantiated positions in 3D space. The linear-complexity operator enables efficient long-context sequential token modeling to capture task-related inter-dependencies simultaneously. Additionally, a bidirectional trajectory-guided "local-to-global" scan method is designed to preserve spatial locality from ego-perspective, thus facilitating the ego-planning. Extensive experiments conducted on nuScenes and Bench2Drive datasets demonstrate the superiority, generalizability and great efficiency of DriveMamba.

Turning Semantics into Topology: LLM-Driven Attribute Augmentation for Collaborative Filtering

Large Language Models (LLMs) have shown great potential for enhancing recommender systems through their extensive world knowledge and reasoning capabilities. However, effectively translating these semantic signals into traditional collaborative embeddings remains an open challenge. Existing approaches typically fall into two extremes: direct inference methods are computationally prohibitive for large-scale retrieval, while embedding-based methods primarily focus on unilateral feature augmentation rather than holistic collaborative signal enhancement. To bridge this gap, we propose Topology-Augmented Graph Collaborative Filtering (TAGCF), a novel framework that transforms semantic knowledge into topological connectivity. Unlike existing approaches that depend on textual features or direct interaction synthesis, TAGCF employs LLMs to infer interaction intents and underlying causal relationships from user-item pairs, representing these insights as intermediate attribute nodes within an enriched User-Attribute-Item (U-A-I) graph. Furthermore, to effectively model the heterogeneous relations in this augmented structure, we propose Adaptive Relation-weighted Graph Convolution (ARGC), which employs relation-specific prediction networks to dynamically estimate the importance of each relation type. Extensive experiments across multiple benchmark datasets and CF backbones demonstrate consistent improvements, with comprehensive evaluations including cold-start scenarios validating the effectiveness and robustness of our framework. All code will be made publicly available. For anonymous review, our code is available at the following anonymous link: https://anonymous.4open.science/r/AGCF-2441353190/.

Virne: A Comprehensive Benchmark for RL-based Network Resource Allocation in NFV

Resource allocation (RA) is critical to efficient service deployment in Network Function Virtualization (NFV), a transformative networking paradigm. Recently, deep Reinforcement Learning (RL)-based methods have been showing promising potential to address this complexity. However, the lack of a systematic benchmarking framework and thorough analysis hinders the exploration of emerging networks and the development of more robust algorithms while causing inconsistent evaluation. In this paper, we introduce Virne, a comprehensive benchmarking framework for the NFV-RA problem, with a focus on supporting deep RL-based methods. Virne provides customizable simulations for diverse network scenarios, including cloud, edge, and 5G environments. It also features a modular and extensible implementation pipeline that supports over 30 methods of various types, and includes practical evaluation perspectives beyond effectiveness, such as scalability, generalization, and scalability. Furthermore, we conduct in-depth analysis through extensive experiments to provide valuable insights into performance trade-offs for efficient implementation and offer actionable guidance for future research directions. Overall, with its diverse simulations, rich implementations, and extensive evaluation capabilities, Virne could serve as a comprehensive benchmark for advancing NFV-RA methods and deep RL applications.
