Impact Mechanism of a Point Interaction in the Cubic Half-Wave Equation: Well-Posedness, Constrained Energy Levels and Near-Critical Rigidity
We study the one-dimensional nonlinear half-wave equation with a logarithmically renormalized point interaction. The nonlinearity is focusing and cubic, which is mass-critical. We establish well-posedness in the energy space using a new method for unconditional uniqueness that requires no auxiliary Strichartz assumption. We reveal the mechanism by which the point interaction affects ground states. The free critical mass is the sharp threshold: fixed-mass ground states exist and are orbitally stable below it, whereas at and above it the constrained energy is unbounded from below. We also prove a near-critical rigidity result showing that bounded energy concentrating sequences converge to free ground states after rescaling.
