Two-sided cells of Weyl groups and certain splitting Whittaker polynomials

Consider the subset of a Weyl group with a fixed descent set. For Weyl groups of classical types, we determine the number of two-sided cells this subset intersect. Moreover, we apply this result to prove that certain rational Whittaker polynomials associated with covering groups split over the field of rational numbers.

The based rings of two-sided cells in an affine Weyl group of type $\tilde B_3$, II

We compute the based rings of two-sided cells corresponding to the unipotent classes in $Sp_6(\mathbb C)$ with Jordan blocks (33), (411), (222) respectively. The results for the first two two-sided cells also verify Lusztig's conjecture on the structure of the based rings of two-sided cells of an affine Weyl group. The result for the last two-sided cell partially suggests a modification of Lusztig's conjecture on the structure of the based rings of two-sided cells of an affine Weyl group.

The Bessel Period Functional on SO(5): The Nontempered Case

For automorphic representations in the nontempered cuspidal spectrum of $\mathrm{SO}_5$, we prove the refined Gan-Gross-Prasad conjecture by establishing a precise Bessel period formula, in which the square of the global Bessel period is expressed as an Euler product of regularized local Bessel period integrals of matrix coefficients.

Tate Classes On Siegel 3-folds

This article proves that Tate classes on Siegel modular 3-folds are spanned by the images of Hilbert modular surfaces at degree 2 and by the images of Shimura curves at degree 4. The proof involves a careful study of the period pairing between degree-4 rapidly decreasing cohomological forms and Hilbert modular surfaces.

Some translations in the second lowest two-sided cell of an affine Weyl group

We are interested in cell properties of translations in affine Weyl groups. We find out some translations in the second lowest two-sided cell of an affine Weyl group and use the translations to formulate a refinement of Jianyi Shi's conjecture on the number of left cells in the second lowest two-sided cell. We verify the refinement for an affine Weyl group of type $\tilde A_{n-1}$ and type $\tilde G_2$.

The Whittaker period formula on Metaplectic SL(2)

The Whittaker period formula on metaplectic $SL(2)$ was previously established only when the base field $F$ is totally real. We present a new simple proof that works for all base number fields. Our local argument is uniform at every local place of $F$, based on the isometry property of quadratic Fourier transform and the estimates of matrix coefficients and Whittaker functions imposed by the unitariness of the local representations.
