PhysInsert: Physically Plausible Object Insertion with Geometric Priors and Bidirectional Object-Scene Interactions

We present PhysInsert, a framework for physically plausible reference-based object insertion that jointly adapts objects and their surrounding scenes. Existing methods often rely on masked inputs, generation-based pairs, or training pairs with limited viewpoint variation, leaving pose and illumination adaptation and bidirectional object-scene interactions insufficiently constrained. We construct the Insert World dataset with strictly aligned Blender-rendered counterfactual pairs and object references across viewpoints and lighting conditions. Building on these data, Geometry-Guided Adaptation couples a VGGT geometry stream with image and text streams under target-scene feature supervision to guide spatially consistent insertion. Complementary 2D Object-Scene Spatial Supervision jointly supervises object occupancy and environmental changes while grounding spatial instructions in object regions through image-text attention. We introduce PhysInsert-Bench with dedicated cross-environment and cross-view cases requiring illumination and pose adaptation beyond appearance copying. Experiments on PhysInsert-Bench and DreamBooth demonstrate improved image fidelity; a user study further shows more accurate placement and improved lighting integration, perspective, and pose plausibility.

ScenePlacer: Reformulating Scene-Level Object Pose Estimation as Visibility Field Learning

We present ScenePlacer, a framework for scene-level pose estimation of objects generated by state-of-the-art native shape generation models, placing generated 3D objects into scenes given a partial geometric observation without modifying the underlying generative pipeline. Existing scene generation approaches either generate objects directly in scene coordinates, compromising their canonical-space priors, or regress poses from complete generated shapes in the shape generation process - the latter being a poorly conditioned problem that is sensitive to scale ambiguity and partial observations. ScenePlacer decouples object generation from pose estimation by reformulating alignment as conditional visibility-field learning. Given an observed partial point cloud from reconstruction and a generated mesh, it predicts a visibility field defined in object space, then estimates the rigid transformation by aligning the partial observation to visible parts on the mesh. We propose a pretrained 3D shape VAE as our backbone, preserving its mesh prior while conditioning it on a separately encoded observation. We further introduce visibility-aware, radius-constrained supervision and synthesize training pairs using only object-level meshes and rendered views, eliminating the need for scene-level pose annotations. On 3D-FUTURE, ScenePlacer consistently outperforms existing placement and pose-refinement baselines under both ground-truth and monocular depth estimation. With generated objects, it achieves a Chamfer distance of 0.0077 and an F-score of 92.40 under estimated depth and improves to 0.0023 and 98.27, respectively, under ground-truth geometry.

SAM 3D Animal: Promptable Animal 3D Reconstruction from Images in the Wild

3D animal reconstruction in the wild remains challenging due to large species variation, frequent occlusions, and the prevalence of multi-animal scenes, while existing methods predominantly focus on single-animal settings. We present SAM 3D Animal, the first promptable framework for multi-animal 3D reconstruction from a single image. Built on the SMAL+ parametric animal model, our method jointly reconstructs multiple instances and supports flexible prompts in the form of keypoints and masks which enable more reliable disambiguation in crowded and occluded scenes. To train such a model, we further introduce Herd3D, a multi-animal 3D dataset containing over 5K images, designed to increase diversity in species, interactions, and occlusion patterns. Experiments on the Animal3D, APTv2, and Animal Kingdom datasets show that our framework achieves state-of-the-art results over both existing model-based and model-free methods, demonstrating a scalable and effective solution for prompt-driven animal 3D reconstruction in the wild.

From Stars to Waves: Stochastic Inference of Microlensed Gravitational Waves

When strongly lensed gravitational waves pass through the stellar field of a lensing galaxy, they acquire additional phase and amplitude modulations from gravitational microlensing by stars and stellar remnants along the line of sight. These microlensed waveforms depend on the masses and positions of thousands or more of the most relevant stars required for numerical convergence of the wave-optics diffraction integral, so that their deterministic reconstruction from the data is computationally prohibitive. We formulate the detection and parameter estimation of such events as a stochastic inference problem and propose a solution with the implementation of normalizing flows. As a proof of principle, we use the inferred surrogate microlensing parameters to identify microlensing signatures and show that 10.2% of microlensed events can be detected at $\ge 3σ$ significance with third-generation gravitational-wave detector networks for source redshifts $z_s \le 2$. The correlation between the surrogate parameters and the density of the underlying stellar field further connects microlensing detection to the properties of the lensing galaxy. This approach opens the door to probing microlensing effects and the properties of the underlying stellar fields. Beyond microlensed gravitational waves, a similar construction may also be applied to other intrinsically stochastic inference problems, such as detecting post-merger gravitational waves from binary neutron star coalescence and signals from core-collapse supernovae.

D3GS: Depth, DINO, and RGB Diffusion Co-Guided 3D Gaussian Splatting for Sparse-View Reconstruction

Novel view synthesis from sparse inputs remains challenging for 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) due to ambiguous geometry, cross-view inconsistency, and missing details in under-constrained regions, resulting in degraded reconstruction and unstable rendering. To tackle these issues, we propose D$^{3}$GS, a Depth-DINO-Diffusion guided sparse-view Gaussian reconstruction framework that jointly enhances geometry and appearance. D$^{3}$GS first recovers a high-resolution, metric depth map via diffusion-based completion and DPT (Dense Prediction Transformer) refinement, providing robust Gaussian initialization and geometric constraints. Then, a DINO-guided view-consistent learning is introduced to augment Gaussian attributes with structural features, improving multi-view consistency. Finally, a diffusion-based Gaussian refinement module injects generative priors into an iterative optimization strategy, enhancing high-frequency geometric and appearance details within the Gaussian representation. Experiments on DTU, LLFF, and Mip-NeRF 360 show that D$^{3}$GS achieves consistent and substantial improvements over strong baselines, with ablation studies validating the effectiveness and complementary roles of each component.

Parametric two-qubit gates via Landau-Zener interference

We propose and demonstrate gates between two superconducting qubits based on quantum interference of consecutive Landau-Zener (LZ) transitions. This gate mechanism bridges between baseband and parametric two-qubit control, enabling in situ tuning of the control frequency across a continuous interval up to hundreds of MHz. Another advantage compared to dispersive couplers is that the speed of the LZ gate is on the order of the full coupling strength. We experimentally demonstrate the gate on two platforms, a modular chiplet architecture of coupled generalized flux qubits, and on a monolithic transmon architecture. The combination of tunability and gate speed establishes the LZ gate as a unique tool for multiplexing control pulses and interconnecting superconducting chiplet architectures.

Tele360: Real-Time Feed-Forward Human Reconstruction from Sparse Unposed Cameras

Live free-viewpoint visualization of real humans is critical for immersive communication and interactive digital experiences. Existing methods either rely on computationally expensive optimization or require calibrated cameras and low-resolution inputs, making real-time high-resolution deployment impractical. In this work, we present Tele360, the first real-time feed-forward system for dynamic human reconstruction and live free-viewpoint visualization from sparse, unposed RGB streams. Our system jointly estimates camera poses and reconstructs a dynamic 3D Gaussian representation for each time instance in a single forward pass. To achieve this, we start by designing a lightweight sparsity-aware multi-view transformer backbone that tokenizes foreground human regions while preserving global context through a shared scene token. We then employ a fully transformer-based Gaussian decoder to mitigate convolution-induced over-smoothing while keeping decoding sparse and efficient. In addition, we introduce a hybrid feature pyramid that injects multi-scale appearance cues into geometry prediction. We further introduce a lightweight differentiable Levenberg-Marquardt camera refinement layer to enhance multi-view consistency and geometric alignment. Moreover, to stabilize learning under sparse, unposed inputs, we transfer multi-view geometry priors from a large visual-geometry foundation model via teacher-student distillation. Finally, the predicted Gaussian maps are streamed with video codecs to remote devices for interactive free-viewpoint rendering. Extensive experiments show that Tele360 achieves state-of-the-art visual quality on studio benchmarks while supporting real-time 2K input-to-rendering at over 25 FPS on a single consumer GPU. Additional captured sequences illustrate its performance across varied subjects, clothing, and motions under our multi-camera setup.

SEGA: Drivable 3D Gaussian Head Avatar from a Single Image

Creating photorealistic 3D head avatars from limited input has become increasingly important for applications in virtual reality, telepresence, and digital entertainment. While recent advances like neural rendering and 3D Gaussian splatting have enabled high-quality digital human avatar creation and animation, most methods rely on multiple images or multi-view inputs, limiting their practicality for real-world use. In this paper, we propose SEGA, a novel approach for Single-imagE-based 3D drivable Gaussian head Avatar creation that combines generalized prior models with a new hierarchical UV-space Gaussian Splatting framework. SEGA seamlessly combines priors derived from large-scale 2D datasets with 3D priors learned from multi-view, multi-expression, and multi-ID data, achieving robust generalization to unseen identities while ensuring 3D consistency across novel viewpoints and expressions. We further present a hierarchical UV-space Gaussian Splatting framework that leverages FLAME-based structural priors and employs a dual-branch architecture to disentangle dynamic and static facial components effectively. The dynamic branch encodes expression-driven fine details, while the static branch focuses on expression-invariant regions, enabling efficient parameter inference and precomputation. This design maximizes the utility of limited 3D data and achieves real-time performance for animation and rendering. Additionally, SEGA performs person-specific fine-tuning to further enhance the fidelity and realism of the generated avatars. Experiments show our method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches in generalization ability, identity preservation, and expression realism, advancing one-shot avatar creation for practical applications.

HarmoHOI: Harmonizing Appearance and 3D Motion for Multi-view Hand-Object Interaction Synthesis

Hand-Object Interaction (HOI) synthesis is a cornerstone for animation production and embodied AI. Despite the strong priors of video foundation models, multi-view consistent HOI synthesis remains challenging due to complex hand motions and occlusions. We present HarmoHOI, a unified diffusion framework that jointly and harmoniously generates synchronized multi-view HOI videos and globally aligned 3D point tracks. Our core insight is that robust multi-view consistency fundamentally requires globally aligned 3D geometry and motion. To this end, we propose a Mixture of Multi-view Diffusion Transformer that co-models RGB videos and 3D point tracks. By representing point tracks as pseudo-videos, we align 3D geometric signals with the 2D latent space of foundation models, thereby minimizing the domain gap and easing adaptation of priors. To further ensure geometry consistency, we introduce Global Motion Aligning Diffusion, which refines coarse point tracks into metric-scale, globally aligned 3D trajectories. HarmoHOI enables on-the-fly co-evolution of 2D appearance and 3D motion during denoising. To overcome the scarcity of multi-view HOI data, we employ a hybrid data curriculum learning strategy that successfully transfers generic priors from single-view data to synchronized multi-view generation. Experimental results show that HarmoHOI achieves state-of-the-art performance in visual quality, motion plausibility, and multi-view geometric consistency. HandsOnWorld: Unconstrained Egocentric Video Generation with Camera-Disentangled Hand Control

We present HandsOnWorld, a framework for hand-controlled egocentric video generation that learns directly from unconstrained monocular video. Prior generators depend on 3D hand annotations from multi-view or marker-based motion capture, confining them to narrow, instrumented scene distributions. To bridge this gap, we introduce a protagonist-centered annotation pipeline that filters monocular 3D reconstructions at the action-semantic, image-quality, and 3D-geometric levels, yielding EgoVid-Pro, a dataset of clean, protagonist-only hand trajectories spanning 103K clips and roughly 12M frames across diverse everyday scenes. These unconstrained scenes exhibit substantial camera ego-motion that is largely absent from tabletop captures, exposing the entanglement of camera and hand motion in existing camera-space control signals. We therefore propose the Plücker Hand Map, which extends Plücker rays from camera geometry to the hand surface, representing hand motion in the same world frame as the camera and disentangling the two motion sources at the representation level. Experiments show that HandsOnWorld outperforms prior methods in visual fidelity and control accuracy and generalizes beyond laboratory settings.

PhotoHOI: Synthesizing 3D Hand-Object Interactions from a Single RGB Photograph

Hand-object interaction (HOI) is a fundamental human behavior with broad applications in AR/VR, digital humans, and embodied interaction. Existing methods typically require predefined object geometry, object trajectories, or task-specific conditions, limiting their use with natural real-world inputs. To address this, we study a more practical problem of synthesizing 3D hand-object interaction sequences from a single RGB photograph and an open-vocabulary language instruction, and introduce PhotoHOI. PhotoHOI first uses a vision-language model to parse the input image and instruction into a structured task specification, including the interaction object, target region, and spatial relation. It then recovers a compact task-relevant 3D scene and plans a smooth collision-aware object trajectory based on the recovered object states, support relations, and surrounding scene geometry. To synthesize hand motion that generalizes to real-world photographs and unseen objects, it learns transferable task-conditioned contact and contact-conditioned grasp priors from large-scale affordance and HOI data. The grasp is further refined in a learned latent space, constraining the optimization to a plausible hand-pose manifold. Experiments on GRAB and H2O demonstrate improved contact quality and reduced penetration over representative baselines. Results on real-world photographs further demonstrate higher task success and scene consistency, together with generalization to unseen objects and open-vocabulary instructions.

SynAgent: Generalizable Cooperative Humanoid Manipulation via Solo-to-Cooperative Agent Synergy

Controllable cooperative humanoid manipulation is a fundamental yet challenging problem for embodied intelligence, due to severe data scarcity, complexities in multi-agent coordination, and limited generalization across objects. In this paper, we present SynAgent, a unified framework that enables scalable and physically plausible cooperative manipulation by leveraging Solo-to-Cooperative Agent Synergy to transfer skills from single-agent human-object interaction to multi-agent human-object-human scenarios. To maintain semantic integrity during motion transfer, we introduce an interaction-preserving retargeting method based on an Interact Mesh constructed via Delaunay tetrahedralization, which faithfully maintains spatial relationships among humans and objects. Building upon this refined data, we propose a single-agent pretraining and adaptation paradigm that distills synergistic collaborative behaviors from abundant single-human data through decentralized training and multi-agent PPO. Finally, we develop a trajectory-conditioned generative policy using a conditional VAE, trained via multi-teacher distillation from motion imitation priors to achieve stable and controllable object-level trajectory execution. Extensive experiments demonstrate that SynAgent significantly outperforms existing baselines in both cooperative imitation and trajectory-conditioned control, while generalizing across diverse object geometries. Codes and data will be available after publication. Project Page: https://yw0208.github.io/synagent/

How to Build Digital Humans? From Priors to Photorealistic Avatars

This state-of-the-art report provides an overview of controllable 3D human avatar creation. We describe current 3D avatar systems, which typically consist of three stages: (i) learning priors of human appearance and motion, (ii) creating a personalized avatar, and (iii) animating the avatar. To limit the scope, we focus on the prior learning and avatar creation stages. We define current avatar representations and introduce a taxonomy that categorizes existing work along multiple axes, including body regions and employed priors. We review methods for full-body and head avatars, as well as layered representations that decompose the body into components such as hands, hair, and garments. Finally, we outline common underlying principles, reference key literature for newcomers, and discuss open challenges and future research directions.

HiReFF: High-Resolution Feedforward Human Reconstruction from Uncalibrated Sparse-View Video

Uncalibrated volumetric video streaming for human reconstruction is essential for holographic communication and AR/VR, yet remains challenging due to the need for temporal consistency and computational efficiency from sparse-view inputs. Existing methods rely on per-scene optimization or calibrated cameras, while recent feed-forward models are limited to low-resolution (0.5K) single-frame synthesis. We present HiReFF, a feed-forward method for 2K-resolution 360° human video reconstruction from uncalibrated sparse-view videos. Our framework decomposes the problem into two key tasks: foreground 3D Gaussian reconstruction from sparse-view videos (four views separated by 90°) and computationally efficient high-resolution synthesis. To enable the former, we propose Scale-synchronized Camera Calibration to resolve scale ambiguity for multi-view supervision, and Gaussian-wise Foreground Masking to reconstruct clean foregrounds by modulating Gaussian parameters. For efficient high-resolution synthesis, our High-resolution Side-tuning achieves 2K rendering by augmenting the Gaussian head with supplementary features while keeping the backbone at 0.5K, drastically reducing computational overhead. Experiments demonstrate that HiReFF significantly outperforms existing methods in high-resolution streaming volumetric video reconstruction. https://iridescentjiang.github.io/HiReFF

GAF: Gaussian Action Field as a 4D Representation for Dynamic World Modeling in Robotic Manipulation

Accurate scene perception is critical for vision-based robotic manipulation. Existing approaches typically follow either a Vision-to-Action (V-A) paradigm, predicting actions directly from visual inputs, or a Vision-to-3D-to-Action (V-3D-A) paradigm, leveraging intermediate 3D representations. However, these methods often struggle with action inaccuracies due to the complexity and dynamic nature of manipulation scenes. In this paper, we adopt a V-4D-A framework that enables direct action reasoning from motion-aware 4D representations via a Gaussian Action Field (GAF). GAF extends 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) by incorporating learnable motion attributes, allowing 4D modeling of dynamic scenes and manipulation actions. To learn time-varying scene geometry and action-aware robot motion, GAF provides three interrelated outputs: reconstruction of the current scene, prediction of future frames, and estimation of init action via Gaussian motion. Furthermore, we employ an action-vision-aligned denoising framework, conditioned on a unified representation that combines the init action and the Gaussian perception, both generated by the GAF, to further obtain more precise actions. Extensive experiments demonstrate significant improvements, with GAF achieving +11.5385 dB PSNR, +0.3864 SSIM and -0.5574 LPIPS improvements in reconstruction quality, while boosting the average +7.3% success rate in robotic manipulation tasks over state-of-the-art methods.

Mix3R: Mixing Feed-forward Reconstruction and Generative 3D Priors for Joint Multi-view Aligned 3D Reconstruction and Pose Estimation

Recent trends in sparse-view 3D reconstruction have taken two different paths: feed-forward reconstruction that predicts pixel-aligned point maps without a complete geometry, and generative 3D reconstruction that generates complete geometry but often with poor input-alignment. We present Mix3R, a novel generative 3D reconstruction method which mixes feed-forward reconstruction and 3D generation into a single framework in an aligned manner. Mix3R generates a 3D shape in two stages: a sparse voxel generation stage and a textured geometry generation stage. Unlike pure generative methods, our first-stage generation jointly produces a coarse 3D structure (sparse voxels), per-view point maps and camera parameters aligned to that 3D structure. This is made possible by introducing a Mixture-of-Transformers architecture that inserts global self-attentions to a feed-forward reconstruction model and a 3D generative model, both pretrained on large-scale data. This design effectively retains the pretrained priors but enables better 2D-3D alignment. Based on the initial aligned generations of sparse 3D voxels and point maps, we compute an overlap-based attention bias that is directly added to another pretrained textured geometry generation model, enabling it to correctly place input textures onto generated shapes in a training-free manner. Our design brings mutual benefits to both feed-forward reconstruction and 3D generation: The feed-forward branch learns to ground its predictions to a generative 3D prior, and conversely, the 3D generation branch is conditioned on geometrically informative features from the feed-forward branch. As a result, our method produces 3D shapes with better input alignment compared with pure 3D generative methods, together with camera pose estimations more accurate than previous feed-forward reconstruction methods. OmniHands: Towards Robust 4D Hand Mesh Recovery via A Versatile Transformer

In this paper, we introduce OmniHands, a universal approach to recovering interactive hand meshes and their relative movement from monocular or multi-view inputs. Our approach addresses two major limitations of previous methods: lacking a unified solution for handling various hand image inputs and neglecting the positional relationship of two hands within images. To overcome these challenges, we develop a universal architecture with novel tokenization and contextual feature fusion strategies, capable of adapting to a variety of tasks. Specifically, we propose a Relation-aware Two-Hand Tokenization (RAT) method to embed positional relation information into the hand tokens. In this way, our network can handle both single-hand and two-hand inputs and explicitly leverage relative hand positions, facilitating the reconstruction of intricate hand interactions in real-world scenarios. As such tokenization indicates the relative relationship of two hands, it also supports more effective feature fusion. To this end, we further develop a 4D Interaction Reasoning (FIR) module to fuse hand tokens in 4D with attention and decode them into 3D hand meshes and relative temporal movements. The efficacy of our approach is validated on several benchmark datasets. The results on in-the-wild videos and real-world scenarios demonstrate the superior performances of our approach for interactive hand reconstruction. More video results can be found on the project page: https://OmniHand.github.io.

GeoDiff4D: Geometry-Aware Diffusion for 4D Head Avatar Reconstruction

Reconstructing photorealistic and animatable 4D head avatars from a single portrait image remains a fundamental challenge in computer vision. While diffusion models have enabled remarkable progress in image and video generation for avatar reconstruction, existing methods primarily rely on 2D priors and struggle to achieve consistent 3D geometry. We propose a novel framework that leverages geometry-aware diffusion to learn strong geometry priors for high-fidelity head avatar reconstruction. Our approach jointly synthesizes portrait images and corresponding surface normals, while a pose-free expression encoder captures implicit expression representations. Both synthesized images and expression latents are incorporated into 3D Gaussian-based avatars, enabling photorealistic rendering with accurate geometry. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method substantially outperforms state-of-the-art approaches in visual quality, expression fidelity, and cross-identity generalization, while supporting real-time rendering.
