TDC: Sim-to-Real Transferable Directional Compliance for Contact-Rich Manipulation

Contact-rich manipulation requires robots to regulate both motion and interaction forces, yet achieving adaptive compliance remains a fundamental challenge. Learning from real-world data is costly and risky, while simulation-based approaches struggle with the sim-to-real gap in contact dynamics; existing sim-to-real methods either require real-world adaptation or sacrifice adaptive compliance by relying on isotropic compliant controllers. Our key insight is that force regulation decomposes into a time-varying but simulation-transferable directional component and a dynamics-sensitive but manually tunable magnitude component. We instantiate this directional component as two policy outputs, a task frame and a control mode vector, predicted by a visuomotor policy adapted from a pre-trained VLA model and trained via imitation learning on automatically generated simulation demonstrations. At deployment, an admittance controller integrates these predictions with human-specified stiffness and target wrench values to realize adaptive compliance. Our approach achieves adaptive compliance using only simulation data and can benefit from large-scale VLA pre-training. Extensive real-world experiments on four contact-rich tasks, microwave opening, peg-in-hole insertion, whiteboard wiping, and door opening, demonstrate strong task success rates and robustness to external disturbances. RxBrain: Embodied Cognition Foundation Model with Joint Language-Visual Reasoning and Imagination

Embodied cognition requires agents to connect high-level task reasoning with the physical states to be achieved. We introduce Hy-Embodied-RxBrain, an embodied cognition foundation model with joint language-visual reasoning and imagination. Unlike vision-language models that emphasize scene understanding and textual decision making, or generative world models that mainly predict future visual states, RxBrain represents embodied plans in a single planning sequence where language and visual imagination play complementary roles. Language provides the abstract structure of a plan, including task decomposition, planning primitives, constraints, temporal order, and decision logic, while visual imagination grounds this structure through world state prediction and joint subgoal planning, associating each planning step with intermediate and final physical states. RxBrain adopts a unified multimodal Mixture-of-Transformers architecture that supports language, image, and video understanding and generation within one model. To train this capability, we build an automatic pipeline that converts embodied videos into joint text-visual planning supervision by decomposing videos into planning steps and aligning them with visual state transitions. We further introduce RxBrain-Bench to evaluate whether models can represent embodied plans through joint textual and visual components rather than separate understanding or generation. Experiments show that RxBrain maintains embodied understanding and generation abilities, and produces plans with coupled textual reasoning, world state prediction, and joint subgoal planning. We also extend RxBrain to continuous robot action generation, where it shows promising real-robot performance without large-scale action-data pretraining. These results provide an initial step toward foundation models for embodied cognition.

RynnBrain: Open Embodied Foundation Models

Despite rapid progress in multimodal foundation models, embodied intelligence community still lacks a unified, physically grounded foundation model that integrates perception, reasoning, and planning within real-world spatial-temporal dynamics. We introduce RynnBrain, an open-source spatiotemporal foundation model for embodied intelligence. RynnBrain strengthens four core capabilities in a unified framework: comprehensive egocentric understanding, diverse spatiotemporal localization, physically grounded reasoning, and physics-aware planning. The RynnBrain family comprises three foundation model scales (2B, 8B, and 30B-A3B MoE) and four post-trained variants tailored for downstream embodied tasks (i.e., RynnBrain-Nav, RynnBrain-Plan, and RynnBrain-VLA) or complex spatial reasoning tasks (i.e., RynnBrain-CoP). In terms of extensive evaluations on 20 embodied benchmarks and 8 general vision understanding benchmarks, our RynnBrain foundation models largely outperform existing embodied foundation models by a significant margin. The post-trained model suite further substantiates two key potentials of the RynnBrain foundation model: (i) enabling physically grounded reasoning and planning, and (ii) serving as a strong pretrained backbone that can be efficiently adapted to diverse embodied tasks.

RynnEC: Bringing MLLMs into Embodied World

We introduce RynnEC, a video multimodal large language model designed for embodied cognition. Built upon a general-purpose vision-language foundation model, RynnEC incorporates a region encoder and a mask decoder, enabling flexible region-level video interaction. Despite its compact architecture, RynnEC achieves state-of-the-art performance in object property understanding, object segmentation, and spatial reasoning. Conceptually, it offers a region-centric video paradigm for the brain of embodied agents, providing fine-grained perception of the physical world and enabling more precise interactions. To mitigate the scarcity of annotated 3D datasets, we propose an egocentric video based pipeline for generating embodied cognition data. Furthermore, we introduce RynnEC-Bench, a region-centered benchmark for evaluating embodied cognitive capabilities. We anticipate that RynnEC will advance the development of general-purpose cognitive cores for embodied agents and facilitate generalization across diverse embodied tasks. The code, model checkpoints, and benchmark are available at: https://github.com/alibaba-damo-academy/RynnEC

UnIRe: Unsupervised Instance Decomposition for Dynamic Urban Scene Reconstruction

Reconstructing and decomposing dynamic urban scenes is crucial for autonomous driving, urban planning, and scene editing. However, existing methods fail to perform instance-aware decomposition without manual annotations, which is crucial for instance-level scene editing. We propose UnIRe, a 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) based approach that decomposes a scene into a static background and individual dynamic instances using only RGB images and LiDAR point clouds. At its core, we introduce 4D superpoints, a novel representation that clusters multi-frame LiDAR points in 4D space, enabling unsupervised instance separation based on spatiotemporal correlations. These 4D superpoints serve as the foundation for our decomposed 4D initialization, i.e., providing spatial and temporal initialization to train a dynamic 3DGS for arbitrary dynamic classes without requiring bounding boxes or object templates.Furthermore, we introduce a smoothness regularization strategy in both 2D and 3D space, further improving the temporal stability.Experiments on benchmark datasets show that our method outperforms existing methods in decomposed dynamic scene reconstruction while enabling accurate and flexible instance-level editing, making it a practical solution for real-world applications.

Efficient Alignment of Unconditioned Action Prior for Language-conditioned Pick and Place in Clutter

We study the task of language-conditioned pick and place in clutter, where a robot should grasp a target object in open clutter and move it to a specified place. Some approaches learn end-to-end policies with features from vision foundation models, requiring large datasets. Others combine foundation models in a zero-shot setting, suffering from cascading errors. In addition, they primarily leverage vision and language foundation models, focusing less on action priors. In this paper, we aim to develop an effective policy by integrating foundation priors from vision, language, and action. We propose A$^2$, an action prior alignment method that aligns unconditioned action priors with 3D vision-language priors by learning one attention layer. The alignment formulation enables our policy to train with less data and preserve zero-shot generalization capabilities. We show that a shared policy for both pick and place actions enhances the performance for each task, and introduce a policy adaptation scheme to accommodate the multi-modal nature of actions. Extensive experiments in simulation and the real-world show that our policy achieves higher task success rates with fewer steps for both pick and place tasks in clutter, effectively generalizing to unseen objects and language instructions. NGEL-SLAM: Neural Implicit Representation-based Global Consistent Low-Latency SLAM System

Neural implicit representations have emerged as a promising solution for providing dense geometry in Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM). However, existing methods in this direction fall short in terms of global consistency and low latency. This paper presents NGEL-SLAM to tackle the above challenges. To ensure global consistency, our system leverages a traditional feature-based tracking module that incorporates loop closure. Additionally, we maintain a global consistent map by representing the scene using multiple neural implicit fields, enabling quick adjustment to the loop closure. Moreover, our system allows for fast convergence through the use of octree-based implicit representations. The combination of rapid response to loop closure and fast convergence makes our system a truly low-latency system that achieves global consistency. Our system enables rendering high-fidelity RGB-D images, along with extracting dense and complete surfaces. Experiments on both synthetic and real-world datasets suggest that our system achieves state-of-the-art tracking and mapping accuracy while maintaining low latency.

$ν$-DBA: Neural Implicit Dense Bundle Adjustment Enables Image-Only Driving Scene Reconstruction

The joint optimization of the sensor trajectory and 3D map is a crucial characteristic of bundle adjustment (BA), essential for autonomous driving. This paper presents $ν$-DBA, a novel framework implementing geometric dense bundle adjustment (DBA) using 3D neural implicit surfaces for map parametrization, which optimizes both the map surface and trajectory poses using geometric error guided by dense optical flow prediction. Additionally, we fine-tune the optical flow model with per-scene self-supervision to further improve the quality of the dense mapping. Our experimental results on multiple driving scene datasets demonstrate that our method achieves superior trajectory optimization and dense reconstruction accuracy. We also investigate the influences of photometric error and different neural geometric priors on the performance of surface reconstruction and novel view synthesis. Our method stands as a significant step towards leveraging neural implicit representations in dense bundle adjustment for more accurate trajectories and detailed environmental mapping.
