Generative Tutorial: Towards Live Contextualized Visual Instructions for Physical Tasks

Visual instructions for physical tasks are typically authored in one context and followed in another, requiring users to translate demonstrated tools, materials, and spatial relationships into their own environment. We introduce Generative Tutorial, a conceptual framework for live visual instruction that depicts intended outcomes and actions within the user's environment and task flow. A formative evaluation of state-of-the-art image and video generation identifies failures and potential benefits across 15 physical tasks. Drawing on these findings, we build an augmented-reality prototype system that proactively generates goal images and demonstration videos using observed workspace context and predicted visual outcomes of preceding actions. A 24-participant lab study found higher task performance quality, greater perceived workspace correspondence, and shorter step-confirmation intervals with the system than with pre-authored guidance. Qualitative findings highlighted how contextual resemblance shapes trust, how generation errors affect interpretation, and how guidance delivery should adapt to users' needs, informing future designs.

Effective and Unsupervised Social Event Detection and Evolution via RAG and Structural Entropy

With the growing scale of social media, social event detection and evolution modeling have attracted increasing attention. Graph neural networks (GNNs) and transformer-based pre-trained language models (PLMs) have become mainstream approaches in this area. However, existing methods still face three major challenges. First, the sheer volume of social media messages makes learning resource-intensive. Second, the fragmentation of social media messages often impedes the model's ability to capture a comprehensive view of the events. Third, the lack of structured temporal context has hindered the development of effective models for event evolution, limiting users' access to event information. To address these challenges, we propose a foundation model for unsupervised Social Event Detection and Evolution, namely RagSEDE. Specifically, RagSEDE introduces a representativeness- and diversity-driven sampling strategy to extract key messages from massive social streams, significantly reducing noise and computational overhead. It further establishes a novel paradigm based on Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) that enhances PLMs in detecting events while simultaneously constructing and maintaining an evolving event knowledge base. Finally, RagSEDE leverages structural information theory to dynamically model event evolution keywords for the first time. Extensive experiments on two public datasets demonstrate the superiority of RagSEDE in open-world social event detection and evolution.

EncGPT: A Multi-Agent Workflow for Dynamic Encryption Algorithms

Communication encryption is crucial in computer technology, but existing algorithms struggle with balancing cost and security. We propose EncGPT, a multi-agent framework using large language models (LLM). It includes rule, encryption, and decryption agents that generate encryption rules and apply them dynamically. This approach addresses gaps in LLM-based multi-agent systems for communication security. We tested GPT-4o's rule generation and implemented a substitution encryption workflow with homomorphism preservation, achieving an average execution time of 15.99 seconds.
