Detection of HI filament: Pair Stacking vs. Filament Stacking

The faint 21 cm signal emitted by neutral hydrogen in cosmic filaments is expected to be detectable. However, due to its weakness, stacking techniques are required. We assessed two stacking methods--pair stacking and filament stacking--using the EAGLE and IllustrisTNG simulations. Pair stacking leverages the fact that cosmic filaments connect massive structures (i.e., knots) in the cosmic web, while filament stacking directly aggregates filaments identified from galaxy distributions. Our analysis indicates that, although pair stacking is convenient, it faces contamination from massive structures; after removing this contamination, the filament signal is significantly reduced. In contrast, HI detection via filament stacking appears more promising. The column density in filament stacking reaches $\sim 10^{16}$--$10^{17}~\mathrm{cm}^{-2}$ even when all haloes are masked, whereas pair stacking does not reach this level even without masking, and is further suppressed by several orders of magnitude once masking is applied. The effectiveness of filament stacking can be further improved with higher galaxy number density and better spatial resolution in radio intensity mapping observations. With the advent of upcoming optical and radio data, the detection of HI in cosmic filaments remains promising.

A more efficient reformulation of complex SDP as real SDP

This note proposes a new reformulation of complex semidefinite programs (SDPs) as real SDPs. As an application, we present an economical reformulation of complex SDP relaxations of complex polynomial optimization problems as real SDPs and derive some further reductions by exploiting inner structure of the complex SDP relaxations. Various numerical examples demonstrate that our new reformulation runs significantly faster than the usual popular reformulation.

HiFi-Inpaint: Towards High-Fidelity Reference-Based Inpainting for Generating Detail-Preserving Human-Product Images

Human-product images, which showcase the integration of humans and products, play a vital role in advertising, e-commerce, and digital marketing. The essential challenge of generating such images lies in ensuring the high-fidelity preservation of product details. Among existing paradigms, reference-based inpainting offers a targeted solution by leveraging product reference images to guide the inpainting process. However, limitations remain in three key aspects: the lack of diverse large-scale training data, the struggle of current models to focus on product detail preservation, and the inability of coarse supervision for achieving precise guidance. To address these issues, we propose HiFi-Inpaint, a novel high-fidelity reference-based inpainting framework tailored for generating human-product images. HiFi-Inpaint introduces Shared Enhancement Attention (SEA) to refine fine-grained product features and Detail-Aware Loss (DAL) to enforce precise pixel-level supervision using high-frequency maps. Additionally, we construct a new dataset, HP-Image-40K, with samples curated from self-synthesis data and processed with automatic filtering. Experimental results show that HiFi-Inpaint achieves state-of-the-art performance, delivering detail-preserving human-product images.

LLM-Guided Semantic Bootstrapping for Interpretable Text Classification with Tsetlin Machines

Pretrained language models (PLMs) like BERT provide strong semantic representations but are costly and opaque, while symbolic models such as the Tsetlin Machine (TM) offer transparency but lack semantic generalization. We propose a semantic bootstrapping framework that transfers LLM knowledge into symbolic form, combining interpretability with semantic capacity. Given a class label, an LLM generates sub-intents that guide synthetic data creation through a three-stage curriculum (seed, core, enriched), expanding semantic diversity. A Non-Negated TM (NTM) learns from these examples to extract high-confidence literals as interpretable semantic cues. Injecting these cues into real data enables a TM to align clause logic with LLM-inferred semantics. Our method requires no embeddings or runtime LLM calls, yet equips symbolic models with pretrained semantic priors. Across multiple text classification tasks, it improves interpretability and accuracy over vanilla TM, achieving performance comparable to BERT while remaining fully symbolic and efficient.

Scalable 3D silicon nitride photonic interposer for high-density optical interconnects

Modern computing workloads demand energy-efficient, high-bandwidth interconnects, motivating photonic interposers as an alternative to electrical links. Here we demonstrate a compact 3D silicon nitride (SiN) photonic interposer prototype comprising two routing layers, with the 3D routing scheme optimized by a global optimization algorithm. The 3D interposer realizes a fully connected 12-node optical network that reduces the total number of intralayer crossings from 495 for all-planar routing to merely 150 (69.7% reduction), below the theoretical lower bound of 153 for all-planar interconnects. Comparing the two schemes, our 3D design achieves a 45.8% reduction experimentally in the average loss per waveguide. The proposed 3D routing architecture also features inherent symmetry and is scalable to higher node counts, flexible node placements, additional routing layers, and other operating wavelengths, enabling denser, lower-loss photonic interposers for next-generation scale-up and high-performance computing (HPC) systems.

Quotation-Based Data Retention Mechanism for Data Privacy in LLM-Empowered Network Services

The deployment of large language models (LLMs) for next-generation network optimization introduces novel data governance challenges. mobile network operators (MNOs) increasingly leverage generative artificial intelligence (AI) for traffic prediction, anomaly detection, and service personalization, requiring access to users' sensitive network usage data-including mobility patterns, traffic types, and location histories. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and similar regulations, users retain the right to withdraw consent and demand data deletion. However, extensive machine unlearning degrades model accuracy and incurs substantial computational costs, ultimately harming network performance for all users. We propose an iterative price discovery mechanism enabling MNOs to compensate users for data retention through sequential price quotations. The server progressively raises the unit price for retaining data while users independently determine their supply at each quoted price. This approach requires no prior knowledge of users' privacy preferences and efficiently maximizes social welfare across the network ecosystem.

The Price of Ignorance: Information-Free Quotation for Data Retention in Machine Unlearning

When users exercise data deletion rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar regulations, mobile network operators face a tradeoff: excessive machine unlearning degrades model accuracy and incurs retraining costs, yet existing pricing mechanisms for data retention require the server to know every user's private privacy and accuracy preferences, which is infeasible under the very regulations that motivate unlearning. We ask: what is the welfare cost of operating without this private information? We design an information-free ascending quotation mechanism where the server broadcasts progressively higher prices and users self-select their data supply, requiring no knowledge of users' parameters. Under complete information, the protocol admits a unique subgame-perfect Nash equilibrium characterized by single-period selling. We formalize the Price of Ignorance -- the welfare gap between optimal personalized pricing (which knows everything) and our information-free quotation (which knows nothing) -- and prove a three-regime efficiency ordering. Numerical evaluation across seven mechanisms and 5000 Monte Carlo runs shows that this price is near zero: the information-free mechanism achieves >=99% of the welfare of its information-intensive benchmarks, while providing noise-robust guarantees and comparable fairness.

Adaptive Bounded-Rationality Modeling of Early-Stage Takeover in Shared-Control Driving

Human drivers' control quality in the first seconds after a handover is critical to shared-driving safety; potentially unsafe steering or pedal inputs therefore require detection and correction by the automated vehicle's safety-fallback system. Yet performance in this window is vulnerable because cognitive states fluctuate rapidly, causing purely rationality-driven, cognition-unaware models to miss early control dynamics. We present an interpretable driver model grounded in bounded rationality with online adaptation that predicts early-stage control quality. We encode boundedness by embedding cognitive constraints in reinforcement learning and adapt latent cognitive parameters in real time via particle filtering from observations of driver actions. In a vehicle-in-the-loop study (n=41), we evaluated predictive performance and physiological validity. The adaptive model not only anticipated hazardous takeovers with higher coverage and longer lead times than non-adaptive baselines but also demonstrated strong alignment between inferred cognitive parameters and real-time eye-tracking metrics. These results confirm that the model captures genuine fluctuations in driver risk perception, enabling timely and cognitively grounded assistance.

Borderless Long Speech Synthesis

Most existing text-to-speech (TTS) systems either synthesize speech sentence by sentence and stitch the results together, or drive synthesis from plain-text dialogues alone. Both approaches leave models with little understanding of global context or paralinguistic cues, making it hard to capture real-world phenomena such as multi-speaker interactions (interruptions, overlapping speech), evolving emotional arcs, and varied acoustic environments. We introduce the Borderless Long Speech Synthesis framework for agent-centric, borderless long audio synthesis. Rather than targeting a single narrow task, the system is designed as a unified capability set spanning VoiceDesigner, multi-speaker synthesis, Instruct TTS, and long-form text synthesis. On the data side, we propose a "Labeling over filtering/cleaning" strategy and design a top-down, multi-level annotation schema we call Global-Sentence-Token. On the model side, we adopt a backbone with a continuous tokenizer and add Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning together with Dimension Dropout, both of which markedly improve instruction following under complex conditions. We further show that the system is Native Agentic by design: the hierarchical annotation doubles as a Structured Semantic Interface between the LLM Agent and the synthesis engine, creating a layered control protocol stack that spans from scene semantics down to phonetic detail. Text thereby becomes an information-complete, wide-band control channel, enabling a front-end LLM to convert inputs of any modality into structured generation commands, extending the paradigm from Text2Speech to borderless long speech synthesis.

The Calabi flow with prescribed curvature on finite graphs

In this paper, we investigate the prescribed curvature problem associated with a special Lin-Lu-Yau curvature on finite graphs of girth at least 6. We define the corresponding Calabi flow for this curvature type, and establish an equivalent characterization of the problem, namely, the solution to the Calabi flow exists globally in time and converges if and only if there exists a weight function that realizes the prescribed curvature. In particular, for constant curvature weights, we prove that the solution to the Calabi flow exists globally in time and converges under certain topological conditions.

Positivstellensätze for polynomial matrices with universal quantifiers

This paper investigates Positivstellensätze for polynomial matrices subject to universally quantified polynomial matrix inequality constraints. We first establish a matrix-valued Positivstellensatz under the Archimedean condition, incorporating universal quantifiers. For scalar-valued polynomial objectives, we further develop a sparse Positivstellensatz that leverages correlative sparsity patterns within these quantified constraints. Moving beyond the Archimedean framework, we then derive two generalized Positivstellensätze under analogous settings. These results collectively unify and extend foundational theorems in three distinct contexts: classical polynomial Positivstellensätze, their universally quantified counterparts, and matrix polynomial formulations. Applications of the established Positivstellensätze to robust polynomial matrix inequality constrained optimization are also investigated.

Unlocking Static Polarization and Strain Density Waves in Perovskites by Softening a Hidden Antiferrodistortive Tilt Gradient Mode

Spin density waves (SDWs) represent a fundamental paradigm of spatially modulated order in condensed matter systems, yet their electrical and mechanical analogues polarization and strain density waves (PDWs and StDWs) have remained elusive as equilibrium phases. Here, we introduce a general, symmetry-driven strategy to unlock static PDWs and StDWs in perovskites SrTiO3 and SrMnO3. Using first-principles calculations, we uncover a previously overlooked soft antiferrodistortive tilt gradient mode at small-q wavevector in the phonon dispersion of their presumed Ima2 ground state under moderate tensile strain. Group-theory analysis reveals that a hard polaracoustic phonon, which intrinsically carries PDWs and StDWs, is improperly destabilized by a trilinear coupling with this modulated tilt mode and an inherently uniform tilt mode. This interaction drives a structural transition from the Ima2 phase to a novel lower-energy Pmn21 phase that hosts long-range-ordered PDWs and StDWs. Strikingly, the engineered StDWs in SrMnO3 activate an electrically tunable SDW via the flexomagnetic effect. These discoveries fundamentally revise the strain-phase diagrams of prototypical perovskites and establish a unified phonon-engineering framework that links modulated phonon instabilities to targeted density-wave order, offering new pathways for designing advanced electromechanical and magnetoelectric functionalities.

Are LLM-Enhanced Graph Neural Networks Robust against Poisoning Attacks?

Large Language Models (LLMs) have advanced Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) by enriching node representations with semantic features, giving rise to LLM-enhanced GNNs that achieve notable performance gains. However, the robustness of these models against poisoning attacks, which manipulate both graph structures and textual attributes during training, remains unexplored. To bridge this gap, we propose a robustness assessment framework that systematically evaluates LLM-enhanced GNNs under poisoning attacks. Our framework enables comprehensive evaluation across multiple dimensions. Specifically, we assess 24 victim models by combining eight LLM- or Language Model (LM)-based feature enhancers with three representative GNN backbones. To ensure diversity in attack coverage, we incorporate six structural poisoning attacks (both targeted and non-targeted) and three textual poisoning attacks operating at the character, word, and sentence levels. Furthermore, we employ four real-world datasets, including one released after the emergence of LLMs, to avoid potential ground truth leakage during LLM pretraining, thereby ensuring fair evaluation. Extensive experiments show that LLM-enhanced GNNs exhibit significantly higher accuracy and lower Relative Drop in Accuracy (RDA) than a shallow embedding-based baseline across various attack settings. Our in-depth analysis identifies key factors that contribute to this robustness, such as the effective encoding of structural and label information in node representations. Based on these insights, we outline future research directions from both offensive and defensive perspectives, and propose a new combined attack along with a graph purification defense. To support future research, we release the source code of our framework at~\url{https://github.com/CyberAlSec/LLMEGNNRP}.

Reproducing Abell 2744 with the HyperMillennium Simulation

We present the Hyper Millennium (HM) simulation, an extremely large cosmological simulation designed to support next-generation galaxy surveys. The simulation follows 4.2 trillion dark matter particles in a comoving box of $2.5\ h^{-1}{\rm Gpc}$, with a mass resolution of $3.2 \times 10^8\, {h^{-1}\rm M_{\odot}}$ and a force resolution of $3.0\ h^{-1}{\rm kpc}$. Its combination of scale and resolution is ideal for studying large-scale structures and rare cosmic objects. In this first paper of the HM project, we explore whether the massive galaxy cluster Abell~2744 (A2744) can be reproduced in detail in the simulation. Pixel-based statistics of galaxy number density $N_{\rm gal}$, luminosity density $L_{\rm gal}$, and projected mass density $κ$ show excellent agreement between A2744 and its analogues down to $\sim 50$ kpc, once field-selection biases toward high galaxy surface density are accounted for. This concordance, achieved in one of the most extreme known galaxy environments, is a validation of the underlying $Λ{\rm CDM}$ model in the extreme regime of A2744. It also showcases the robustness and accuracy of the HM simulation, which, when coupled with a sophisticated semi-analytic galaxy formation model, is capable of producing galaxy and mass catalogues of comparable quality out to high redshift across its full comoving volume of 50.4 ${\rm Gpc^3}$.

Clutter-Resilient ISAC for Low-Altitude Wireless Networks: A 5G Base Station-Compatible Protocol, Waveform, and Prototype

Integrated sensing and communications (ISAC) has been envisioned as a promising solution to support emerging services in low-altitude wireless networks (LAWNs), where upgrading 5G ground base stations (GBS) toward new active sensing systems with wide coverage, low cost, high accuracy, and favorable spectrum compatibility, is strongly desired. However, such an evolution faces several critical challenges, particularly in the detection and tracking of weak and slow unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). These challenges include ISAC waveform design, clutter cancellation resilient to high clutter-to-noise ratios (CNRs), and efficient Doppler separation between UAVs and clutter. To that end, we summarize potential solutions and raise a comprehensive framework on implementing the 5Gadvanced (5G-A) GBS. Outfield experiments demonstrate that the developed 5G-A GBS can effectively track weak and slow targets at distances exceeding 1 kilometer, while incurring only a 1.2% downlink rate loss relative to commercial 5G-A GBS.

OmniGuide: Universal Guidance Fields for Enhancing Generalist Robot Policies

Vision-language-action(VLA) models have shown great promise as generalist policies for a large range of relatively simple tasks. However, they demonstrate limited performance on more complex tasks, such as those requiring complex spatial or semantic understanding, manipulation in clutter, or precise manipulation. We propose OMNIGUIDE, a flexible framework that improves VLA performance on such tasks by leveraging arbitrary sources of guidance, such as 3D foundation models, semantic-reasoning VLMs, and human pose models. We show how many kinds of guidance can be naturally expressed as differentiable energy functions with task-specific attractors and repellers located in 3D space, that influence the sampling of VLA actions. In this way, OMNIGUIDE enables guidance sources with complementary task-relevant strengths to improve a VLA model's performance on challenging tasks. Extensive experiments in both simulation and real-world environments, across diverse sources of guidance, demonstrate that OMNIGUIDE enhances the performance of state-of-the-art generalist policies (e.g., $π_{0.5}$, GR00T N1.6) significantly across success and safety rates. Critically, our unified framework matches or surpasses the performance of prior methods designed to incorporate specific sources of guidance into VLA policies. Interacting topological magnons in the Kitaev-Heisenberg honeycomb ferromagnets with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction

This theoretical work is devoted to investigating the magnon-magnon interaction effect in a two-dimensional Heisenberg-Kitaev honeycomb ferromagnet with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI). Based on the first-order Green function formalism, we calculate the thermal-fluctuation-induced temperature-dependent self-energy corrections of magnons. Our calculations reveal that the critical temperature for temperature-induced topological phase transitions monotonically approaches the Curie temperature with increasing DMI strength. Furthermore, it is shown that the critical temperature for topological phase transitions is correlated with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction and magnetic field strength.

VGGDrive: Empowering Vision-Language Models with Cross-View Geometric Grounding for Autonomous Driving

The significance of cross-view 3D geometric modeling capabilities for autonomous driving is self-evident, yet existing Vision-Language Models (VLMs) inherently lack this capability, resulting in their mediocre performance. While some promising approaches attempt to mitigate this by constructing Q&A data for auxiliary training, they still fail to fundamentally equip VLMs with the ability to comprehensively handle diverse evaluation protocols. We thus chart a new course, advocating for the infusion of VLMs with the cross-view geometric grounding of mature 3D foundation models, closing this critical capability gap in autonomous driving. In this spirit, we propose a novel architecture, VGGDrive, which empowers Vision-language models with cross-view Geometric Grounding for autonomous Driving. Concretely, to bridge the cross-view 3D geometric features from the frozen visual 3D model with the VLM's 2D visual features, we introduce a plug-and-play Cross-View 3D Geometric Enabler (CVGE). The CVGE decouples the base VLM architecture and effectively empowers the VLM with 3D features through a hierarchical adaptive injection mechanism. Extensive experiments show that VGGDrive enhances base VLM performance across five autonomous driving benchmarks, including tasks like cross-view risk perception, motion prediction, and trajectory planning. It's our belief that mature 3D foundation models can empower autonomous driving tasks through effective integration, and we hope our initial exploration demonstrates the potential of this paradigm to the autonomous driving community.
