Hidden-strange molecular states and the $Nϕ$ bound state via a QCD van der Waals force

In this work, we study the hidden-strange molecular states composed of a baryon and a vector meson in a coupled-channel $Nρ-Nω-Nϕ-ΛK^*-ΣK^*$ interaction. With the help of the effective Lagrangians which coupling constants are determined by the SU(3) symmetry, the interaction is constructed and inserted into the quasipotential Bethe-Salpeter equation to search for poles in the complex plane, which correspond to molecular states. Two poles are found with a spin parity $3/2^-$ near the $Nρ$ and the $ΣK^*$ thresholds, which can be related to the $N(1700)$ and the $N(2100)$, respectively. No pole near the $Nϕ$ threshold can be found if direct interaction between a nucleon and $ϕ$ meson is neglected according to the OZI rule. After introducing the QCD van der Waals force between a nucleon and $ϕ$ meson, a narrow state can be produced near the $Nϕ$ threshold. Inclusion of the QCD van der Waals force changes the line shape of the invariant mass spectrum in the $Nϕ$ channel leading to a worse agreement with the present low-precision data. Future experiments at BelleII, JLab, and other facilities will be very helpful to clarify the existence of these possible hidden-strange molecular states.

Autler-Townes doublet in single-photon Rydberg spectra of Cesium atomic vapor with a 319 nm UV laser

We demonstrate the single-photon excitation spectra of cesium Rydberg atoms by means of a Doppler-free purely all-optical detection with a room-temperature vapor cell and a 319 nm ultra-violet (UV) laser. We excite atoms directly from 6S1/2 ground state to 71P3/2 Rydberg state with a narrow-linewidth 319 nm UV laser. The detection of Rydberg states is performed by monitoring the absorption of an 852 nm probe beam in a V-type three-level system. With a strong coupling light, we observe the Autler-Townes doublet and investigate experimentally the dependence of the separation and linewidth on the coupling intensity, which is consistent with the prediction based on the dressed state theory. We further investigate the Rydberg spectra with an external magnetic field. The existence of non-degenerate Zeeman sub-levels results in the broadening and shift of the spectra. It has potential application in sensing magnetic field.

A Theoretical Framework of Approximation Error Analysis of Evolutionary Algorithms

In the empirical study of evolutionary algorithms, the solution quality is evaluated by either the fitness value or approximation error. The latter measures the fitness difference between an approximation solution and the optimal solution. Since the approximation error analysis is more convenient than the direct estimation of the fitness value, this paper focuses on approximation error analysis. However, it is straightforward to extend all related results from the approximation error to the fitness value. Although the evaluation of solution quality plays an essential role in practice, few rigorous analyses have been conducted on this topic. This paper aims at establishing a novel theoretical framework of approximation error analysis of evolutionary algorithms for discrete optimization. This framework is divided into two parts. The first part is about exact expressions of the approximation error. Two methods, Jordan form and Schur's triangularization, are presented to obtain an exact expression. The second part is about upper bounds on approximation error. Two methods, convergence rate and auxiliary matrix iteration, are proposed to estimate the upper bound. The applicability of this framework is demonstrated through several examples.

A Blended Deep Learning Approach for Predicting User Intended Actions

User intended actions are widely seen in many areas. Forecasting these actions and taking proactive measures to optimize business outcome is a crucial step towards sustaining the steady business growth. In this work, we focus on pre- dicting attrition, which is one of typical user intended actions. Conventional attrition predictive modeling strategies suffer a few inherent drawbacks. To overcome these limitations, we propose a novel end-to-end learning scheme to keep track of the evolution of attrition patterns for the predictive modeling. It integrates user activity logs, dynamic and static user profiles based on multi-path learning. It exploits historical user records by establishing a decaying multi-snapshot technique. And finally it employs the precedent user intentions via guiding them to the subsequent learning procedure. As a result, it addresses all disadvantages of conventional methods. We evaluate our methodology on two public data repositories and one private user usage dataset provided by Adobe Creative Cloud. The extensive experiments demonstrate that it can offer the appealing performance in comparison with several existing approaches as rated by different popular metrics. Furthermore, we introduce an advanced interpretation and visualization strategy to effectively characterize the periodicity of user activity logs. It can help to pinpoint important factors that are critical to user attrition and retention and thus suggests actionable improvement targets for business practice. Our work will provide useful insights into the prediction and elucidation of other user intended actions as well.

Characterizations of centralizable mappings on algebras of locally measurable operators

A linear mapping $ϕ$ from an algebra $\mathcal{A}$ into its bimodule $\mathcal M$ is called a centralizable mapping at $G\in\mathcal{A}$ if $ϕ(AB)=ϕ(A)B=Aϕ(B)$ for each $A$ and $B$ in $\mathcal{A}$ with $AB=G$. In this paper, we prove that if $\mathcal M$ is a von Neumann algebra without direct summands of type $\mathrm{I}_1$ and type $\mathrm{II}$, $\mathcal A$ is a $*$-subalgebra with $\mathcal M\subseteq\mathcal A\subseteq LS(\mathcal{M})$ and $G$ is a fixed element in $\mathcal A$, then every continuous (with respect to the local measure topology $t(\mathcal M)$) centralizable mapping at $G$ from $\mathcal A$ into $\mathcal M$ is a centralizer.

Prediction of Coronary Heart Disease Using Routine Blood Tests

Background --The objective of this study was to examine the association of routine blood test results with coronary heart disease (CHD) risk, to incorporate them into coronary prediction models and to compare the discrimination properties of this approach with other prediction functions. Methods and Results --This work was designed as a retrospective, single-center study of a hospital-based cohort. The 5060 CHD patients (2365 men and 2695 women) were 1 to 97 years old at baseline with 8 years (2009-2017) of medical records, 5051 health check-ups and 5075 cases of other diseases. We developed a two-layer Gradient Boosting Decision Tree(GBDT) model based on routine blood data to predict the risk of coronary heart disease, which could identify 86% of people with coronary heart disease. We built a dataset with 15,000 routine blood tests results. Using this dataset, we trained the two-layer GBDT model to classify healthy status, coronary heart disease and other diseases. As a result of the classification after machine learning, we found that the sensitivity of detecting the health data was approximately 93% for all data, and the sensitivity of detecting CHD was 93% for disease data that included coronary heart disease. On this basis, we further visualized the correlation between routine blood results and related data items, and there was an obvious pattern in health and coronary heart disease in all data presentations, which can be used for clinical reference. Finally, we briefly analyzed the results above from the perspective of pathophysiology. Conclusions --Routine blood data provides more information about CHD than what we already know through the correlation between test results and related data items. A simple coronary disease prediction model was developed using a GBDT algorithm, which will allow physicians to predict CHD risk in patients without overt CHD.

Three-Dimensional Fermi-Surface and Electron-Phonon Coupling in Semimetallic 1T-TiTe2 studied by Angle-Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy

We present an investigation on electronic structure of 1T-TiTe2 material via high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), utilizing tunable photon energy excitations. The typical semimetal-like electronic structure is observed and examined, where multiple hole pockets related to Te 5p bands and one electron pockets related to Ti 3d band are populated. The obtained results reveals i) a pronounced three-dimensional (3D) electronic structure of 1T-TiTe2 with typical semi-metallic features, for both the Ti 3d and the Te 5p states; ii) multiple Fermi surface (FS) sheets and complex band structure; and iii) an obvious kink in dispersion at an energy of about 18 meV below the Fermi energy, the first experimental observation of a kink structure in 1T-TiTe2, which may originate from electron-phonon coupling. These important and significant findings can help us to gain an in-depth understanding of the 3D electronic structure of semimetallic 1T- TiTe2.

$Ξ$(2030) and $Ξ$(2120) as $\bar{K}^*Σ$ molecular states

In this work, the molecular states from the \bar{K}^{*}Σinteraction are studied in a quasipotential Bethe-Salpeter equation approach with the one-boson-exchange potentials. We consider the exchanges of vector (ρ,ωand ϕ) mesons and pseudoscalar (πand η) mesons to describe the \bar{K}^{*}Σinteraction with the coupling constants determined by the SU(3) symmetry, The poles of the scattering amplitude are searched for to find the molecular states dynamically generated from the \bar{K}^{*}Σinteraction. A bound state with quantum number I(J^{p})=1/2(5/2^{+}) is produced, which can be associated to the Ξ(2030) baryon. Other bound states with J\le{}5/2 are also searched for and it is found that there exist bound states with quantum numbers I(J^P)=1/2(1/2^-), 1/2(3/2^{-}), and 1/2(3/2^+). The Ξ(2120) may be a candidate for one of these three bound states. In addition, we also find two bound states with isospin 3/2 and spin parities 1/2^- and 1/2^+.

Local Lie derivations on von Neumann algebras and algebras of locally measurable operators

Let $\mathcal{A}$ be a unital associative algebra and $\mathcal{M}$ be an $\mathcal{A}$-bimodule. A linear mapping $φ$ from $\mathcal{A}$ into an $\mathcal{A}$-bimodule $\mathcal{M}$ is called a Lie derivation if $φ[A,B]=[φ(A),B]+[A,φ(B)]$ for each $A,B$ in $\mathcal{A}$, and $φ$ is called a \emph{local Lie derivation} if for every $A$ in $\mathcal{A}$, there exists a Lie derivation $φ_{A}$ (depending on $A$) from $\mathcal{A}$ into $\mathcal{M}$ such that $φ(A)=φ_{A}(A)$. In this paper, we prove that every local Lie derivation on von Neumann algebras is a Lie derivation; and we show that if $\mathcal M$ is a type I von Neumann algebra with atomic lattice of projections, then every local Lie derivation on $LS(\mathcal M)$ is a Lie derivation.

New Methods of Studying Valley Fitness Landscapes

The word "valley" is a popular term used in intuitively describing fitness landscapes. What is a valley on a fitness landscape? How to identify the direction and location of a valley if it exists? However, such questions are seldom rigorously studied in evolutionary optimization especially when the search space is a high dimensional continuous space. This paper presents two methods of studying valleys on a fitness landscape. The first method is based on the topological homeomorphism. It establishes a rigorous definition of a valley. A valley is regarded as a one-dimensional manifold. The second method takes a different viewpoint from statistics. It provides an algorithm of identifying the valley direction and location using principle component analysis.

Strong and radiative decays of DΞmolecular state and newly observed $Ω_c$ states

In this work, we study strong and radiative decays of S-wave DΞmolecular state, which is related to the Ω^*_c states newly observed at LHCb. The coupling between the DΞmolecular state and its constituents D and Ξis calculated by using the compositeness condition. With the obtained coupling, the partial decay widths of the DΞmolecular state into the Ξ_c^{+}K^{-}, Ξ^{'+}_cK^{-} and Ω^{*}_c(2695)γfinal states through hadronic loop are calculated with the help of the effective Lagrangians. By comparison with the LHCb observation, the current results of total decay width support the Ω^{*}_c(3119) or Ω^{*}_c(3050) as DΞmolecule while the the decay width of the Ω^{*}_c(3000), Ω^{*}_c(3066) and Ω^{*}_c(3090) can not be well reproduced in the molecular state picture. The partial decay widths are also presented and helpful to further understand the internal structures of Ω^{*}_c(3119) and Ω^{*}_c(3050).

Characterizations of $(m,n)$-Jordan derivations on some algebras

Let $\mathcal R$ be a ring, $\mathcal{M}$ be a $\mathcal R$-bimodule and $m,n$ be two fixed nonnegative integers with $m+n\neq0$. An additive mapping $δ$ from $\mathcal R$ into $\mathcal{M}$ is called an \emph{$(m,n)$-Jordan derivation} if $(m+n)δ(A^{2})=2mAδ(A)+2nδ(A)A$ for every $A$ in $\mathcal R$. In this paper, we prove that every $(m,n)$-Jordan derivation from a $C^{*}$-algebra into its Banach bimodule is zero. An additive mapping $δ$ from $\mathcal R$ into $\mathcal{M}$ is called a $(m,n)$-Jordan derivable mapping at $W$ in $\mathcal R$ if $(m+n)δ(AB+BA)=2mδ(A)B+2mδ(B)A+2nAδ(B)+2nBδ(A)$ for each $A$ and $B$ in $\mathcal R$ with $AB=BA=W$. We prove that if $\mathcal{M}$ is a unital $\mathcal A$-bimodule with a left (right) separating set generated algebraically by all idempotents in $\mathcal A$, then every $(m,n)$-Jordan derivable mapping at zero from $\mathcal A$ into $\mathcal{M}$ is identical with zero. We also show that if $\mathcal{A}$ and $\mathcal{B}$ are two unital algebras, $\mathcal{M}$ is a faithful unital $(\mathcal{A},\mathcal{B})$-bimodule and $\mathcal{U}={\left[\begin{array}{cc}\mathcal{A} &\mathcal{M} \\\mathcal{N} & \mathcal{B} \\\end{array}\right]}$ is a generalized matrix algebra, then every $(m,n)$-Jordan derivable mapping at zero from $\mathcal{U}$ into itself is equal to zero.

Characterizations of Jordan derivations on algebras of locally measurable operators

We prove that if $\mathcal M$ is a properly infinite von Neumann algebra and $LS(\mathcal M)$ is the local measurable operator algebra affiliated with $\mathcal M$, then every Jordan derivation from $LS(\mathcal M)$ into itself is continuous with respect to the local measure topology $t(\mathcal M)$. We construct an extension of a Jordan derivation from $\mathcal M$ into $LS(\mathcal M)$ up to a Jordan derivation from $LS(\mathcal M)$ into itself. Moreover, we prove that if $\mathcal M$ is a properly von Neumann algebra and $\mathcal A$ is a subalgebra of $LS(\mathcal M)$ such that $\mathcal M\subset\mathcal A$, then every Jordan derivation from $\mathcal A$ into $LS(\mathcal M)$ is continuous with respect to the local measure topology $t(\mathcal M)$.

$Z_c(3900)/Z_c(3885)$ as a virtual state from $πJ/ψ-\bar{D}^*D$ interaction

In this work, we study the $J/ψπ$ and $\bar{D}^*D$ invariant mass spectra of the $Y(4260)$ decay to find out the origin of the $Z_c(3900)$ and $Z_c(3885)$ structures. The $J/ψπ-\bar{D}^{*}D$ interaction is studied in a coupled-channel quasipotential Bethe-Saltpeter equation approach, and embedded to the $Y(4260)$ decay process to reproduce both $J/ψπ^-$ and $D^{*-}D^0$ invariant mass spectra observed at BESIII simultaneously. It is found out that a virtual state at energy about 3870 MeV is produced from the interaction when both invariant mass spectra are comparable with the experiment. The results support that both $Z_c(3900)$ and $Z_c(3885)$ have the same origin, that is, a virtual state from $J/ψπ-\bar{D}^*{D}$ interaction, in which the $\bar{D}^*{D}$ interaction is more important and the coupling between $\bar{D}^*{D}$ and $J/ψπ$ channels plays a minor role.

Single-photon cesium Rydberg excitation spectroscopy using 318.6-nm UV laser and room-temperature vapor cell

We demonstrate a single-photon Rydberg excitation spectroscopy of cesium (Cs) atoms in a room-temperature vapor cell. Cs atoms are excited directly from 6S1/2 ground state to nP3/2 (n = 70 - 100) Rydberg states with a 318.6 nm ultraviolet (UV) laser, and Rydberg excitation spectra are obtained by transmission enhancement of a probe beam resonant to Cs 6S1/2, F = 4 - 6P3/2, F' = 5 transition as partial population on F = 4 ground state are transferred to Rydberg state .Analysis reveals that the observed spectra are velocity-selective spectroscopy of Rydberg state, from which the amplitude and linewidth influenced by lasers'Rabi frequency have been investigated. Fitting to energies of Cs nP3/2 (n = 70 -100) states, the determined quantum defect is 3.56671(42). The demodulated spectra can also be employed as frequency references to stabilize the UV laser frequency to specific Cs Rydberg transition.

Possible strange hidden-charm pentaquarks from $Σ_c^{(*)}\bar{D}_s^*$ and $Ξ^{(',*)}_c\bar{D}^*$ interactions

Using the one-boson-exchange model, we investigate the $Λ_c\bar{D}_s^*$, $Σ_c\bar{D}_s^*$, $Σ_c^*\bar{D}_s^*$, $Ξ_c\bar{D}^*$, $Ξ_c'\bar{D}^*$, and $Ξ_c^*\bar{D}^*$ interactions by considering the one-eta-exchange and/or one-pion-exchange contributions. We further predict the existence of hidden-charm molecular pentaquarks. Promising candidates for hidden-charm molecular pentaquarks include a $Ξ_c'\bar{D}^*$ state with $0(\frac{1}{2}^-)$ and the $Ξ_c^*\bar{D}^*$ states with $0(\frac{1}{2}^-)$ and $0(\frac{3}{2}^-)$. Experimental searches for these predicted hidden-charm molecular pentaquarks are an interesting future research topic for experiments like LHCb.

Investigation of pion-induced $f_1(1285)$ production off a nucleon target within an interpolating Reggeized approach

In this work, the pion-induced $f_1(1285)$ production off a nucleon target is investigated in an effective Lagrangian approach with an interpolating Reggeized treatment in a large range of the pion-beam momentum from threshold up to several tens of GeV. The $s$-channel, $u$-channel, and $t $-channel Born terms are included to calculate production cross sections. An interpolating Reggeized treatment is applied to the $t$ channel, which is found to be important to reproduce the behavior of the existent experimental total cross sections at both low ($\lesssim$ 8 GeV) and high pion-beam momenta ($\gtrsim$ 8 GeV). It is found that the $t$-channel contribution is dominant in the pion-induced $f_1(1285)$ production at low beam momentum and still dominant at very forward angles at high momentum. The interpolated Reggeized treatment of the $u$ channel is also discussed. The $u$-channel contribution is small and negligible at low momentum, and it becomes dominant at backward angles at momenta higher than 10 GeV. The differential cross sections are predicted with the model fixed by the fitting existent experimental data. The results are helpful to the possible experiments at J-PARC and COMPASS.

Measurement of magic-wavelength optical dipole trap by using the laser-induced fluorescence spectra of trapped single cesium atoms

Based on the multi-level model, we have calculated light shifts for Zeeman states of hyperfine levels of cesium (Cs) 6S1/2 ground state and 6P3/2 excited state. The magic-wavelength linearly-polarized optical dipole trap (ODT) for Cs 6S1/2 F=4, mF=+4 - 6P3/2 F'=5, mF=+5 transition is experimentally constructed and characterized by using the laser-induced fluorescence spectra of trapped single Cs atoms. The magic wavelength is 937.7 nm which produces almost the same light shift for 6S1/2 F=4, mF=+4 ground state and 6P3/2 F'=5, mF=+5 excited state with linearly-polarized ODT laser beam. Compared to undisturbed Cs 6S1/2 F=4, mF=+4 - 6P3/2 F'=5, mF=+5 transition frequency in free space, the differential light shift is less than 0.7 MHz in a linearly-polarized 937.7 nm ODT, which is less than 1.2% of the trap depth. We also discussed influence of the trap depth and the bias magnetic field on the measurement results.
