Irreducible Characters of Kac-Moody Lie superalgebras

Generalizing the super duality formalism for finite-dimensional Lie superalgebras of type $ABCD$, we establish an equivalence between parabolic BGG categories of a Kac-Moody Lie superalgebra and a Kac-Moody Lie algebra. The characters for a large family of irreducible highest weight modules over a symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie superalgebra are then given in terms of Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials for the first time. We formulate a notion of integrable modules over a symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie superalgebra via super duality, and show that these integrable modules form a semisimple tensor subcategory, whose Littlewood-Richardson tensor product multiplicities coincide with those in the Kac-Moody algebra setting.

Quantum Shuffles and Quantum Supergroups of Basic Type

We initiate the study of several distinguished bases for the positive half of a quantum supergroup $U_q$ associated to a general super Cartan datum $(\mathrm{I}, (\cdot,\cdot))$ of basic type inside a quantum shuffle superalgebra. The combinatorics of words for an arbitrary total ordering on $\mathrm{I}$ is developed in connection with the root system associated to $\mathrm{I}$. The monomial, Lyndon, and PBW bases of $U_q$ are constructed, and moreover, a direct proof of the orthogonality of the PBW basis is provided within the framework of quantum shuffles. Consequently, the canonical basis is constructed for $U_q$ associated to the standard super Cartan datum of type $\mathfrak{gl}(n|1)$, $\mathfrak{osp}(1|2n)$, or $\mathfrak{osp}(2|2n)$ or an arbitrary non-super Cartan datum. In the non-super case, this refines Leclerc's work and provides a new self-contained construction of canonical bases. The canonical bases of $U_q$, of its polynomial modules, as well as of Kac modules in the case of quantum $\mathfrak{gl}(2|1)$ are explicitly worked out.

Brundan-Kazhdan-Lusztig conjecture for general linear Lie superalgebras

In the framework of canonical and dual canonical bases of Fock spaces, Brundan in 2003 formulated a Kazhdan-Lusztig type conjecture for the characters of the irreducible and tilting modules in the BGG category for the general linear Lie superalgebra for the first time. In this paper, we prove Brundan's conjecture and its variants associated to all Borel subalgebras in full generality.

Equivalence of blocks for the general linear Lie superalgebra

We develop a reduction procedure which provides an equivalence (as highest weight categories) from an arbitrary block (defined in terms of the central character and the integral Weyl group) of the BGG category O for a general linear Lie superalgebra to an integral block of O for (possibly a direct sum of) general linear Lie superalgebras. We also establish indecomposability of blocks of O.

Quantum Supergroups III. Twistors

We establish direct connections at several levels between quantum groups and supergroups associated to bar-consistent super Cartan datum by constructing an automorphism (called twistor) in the setting of covering quantum groups. The canonical bases of the halves of quantum groups and supergroups are shown to match under the twistor up to powers of a square root of -1. We further show that the modified quantum group and supergroup are isomorphic over the rational function field adjoint with a square root of -1, by constructing a twistor on the modified covering quantum group. An equivalence of categories of weight modules for quantum groups and supergroups follows.

Quantum supergroups II. Canonical basis

Following Kashiwara's algebraic approach, we construct crystal bases and canonical bases for quantum supergroups with no isotropic odd roots and for their integrable modules.

Quantum Supergroups I. Foundations

In this part one of a series of papers, we introduce a new version of quantum covering and super groups with no isotropic odd simple root, which is suitable for the studies of integrable modules, integral forms and bar-involution. A quantum covering group involves a quantum parameter q and a sign parameter pi squaring to 1, and it specializes to a quantum supergroup when pi=-1. Following Lusztig, we formulate and establish various structural results of the quantum covering groups, including bilinear form, quasi-R-matrix, Casimir, character formulas for integrable modules, and higher Serre relations.

Frobenius map for the centers of Hecke algebras

We introduce a commutative associative graded algebra structure on the direct sum Z of the centers of the Hecke algebras associated to the symmetric groups in n letters for all n. As a natural deformation of the classical construction of Frobenius, we establish an algebra isomorphism from the algebra Z to the ring of symmetric functions. This isomorphism provides an identification between several distinguished bases for the centers (introduced by Geck-Rouquier, Jones, Lascoux) and explicit bases of symmetric functions.

Coinvariant algebras and fake degrees for spin Weyl groups of classical type

The coinvariant algebra of a Weyl group plays a fundamental role in several areas of mathematics. The fake degrees are the graded multiplicities of the irreducible modules of a Weyl group in its coinvariant algebra, and they were computed by Steinberg, Lusztig and Beynon-Lusztig. In this paper we formulate a notion of spin coinvariant algebra for every Weyl group. Then we compute all the spin fake degrees for each classical Weyl group, which are by definition the graded multiplicities of the simple modules of a spin Weyl group in the spin coinvariant algebra. The spin fake degrees for the exceptional Weyl groups are given in a sequel.

Categorification of quantum Kac-Moody superalgebras

We introduce a non-degenerate bilinear form and use it to provide a new characterization of quantum Kac-Moody superalgebras with no isotropic odd simple roots. We show that the spin quiver Hecke algebras introduced by Kang-Kashiwara-Tsuchioka provide a categorification of half the quantum Kac-Moody superalgebras, using the recent work of Ellis-Khovanov-Lauda. A new idea here is that a super sign is categorified as spin (i.e., the parity-shift functor).

Canonical basis for quantum osp(1|2)

We introduce a modified quantum enveloping algebra as well as a (modified) covering quantum algebra for the ortho-symplectic Lie superalgebra osp(1|2). Then we formulate and compute the corresponding canonical bases, and relate them to the counterpart for sl(2). This provides a first example of canonical basis for quantum superalgebras.

Frobenius character formula and spin generic degrees for Hecke-Clifford algebra

The spin analogues of several classical concepts and results for Hecke algebras are established. A Frobenius type formula is obtained for irreducible characters of the Hecke-Clifford algebra. A precise characterization of the trace functions allows us to define the character table for the algebra. The algebra is endowed with a canonical symmetrizing trace form, with respect to which the spin generic degrees are formulated and shown to coincide with the spin fake degrees. We further provide a characterization of the trace functions and the symmetrizing trace form on the spin Hecke algebra which is Morita super-equivalent to the Hecke-Clifford algebra.

Spin Kostka polynomials

We introduce a spin analogue of Kostka polynomials and show that these polynomials enjoy favorable properties parallel to the Kostka polynomials. Further connections of spin Kostka polynomials with representation theory are established.

Lectures on spin representation theory of symmetric groups

The representation theory of the symmetric groups is intimately related to geometry, algebraic combinatorics, and Lie theory. The spin representation theory of the symmetric groups was originally developed by Schur. In these lecture notes, we present a coherent account of the spin counterparts of several classical constructions such as the Frobenius characteristic map, Schur duality, the coinvariant algebra, Kostka polynomials, and Young's seminormal form.

Super duality for general linear Lie superalgebras and applications

We apply the super duality formalism recently developed by the authors to obtain new equivalences of various module categories of general linear Lie superalgebras. We establish the correspondence of standard, tilting, and simple modules, as well as the identification of the u-homology groups, under these category equivalences. As an application, we obtain a complete solution of the irreducible character problem for some new parabolic BGG categories of gl(m|n)-modules, including the full BGG category of gl(m|2)-modules, in terms of type A Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials.

The GL_n(q)-module structure of the symmetric algebra around the Steinberg module

We determine the graded composition multiplicity in the symmetric algebra S(V) of the natural GL_n(q)-module V, or equivalently in the coinvariant algebra of V, for a large class of irreducible modules around the Steinberg module. This was built on a computation, via connections to algebraic groups, of the Steinberg module multiplicity in a tensor product of S(V) with other tensor spaces of fundamental weight modules.

Spin invariant theory for the symmetric group

We formulate a theory of invariants for the spin symmetric group in some suitable modules which involve the polynomial and exterior algebras. We solve the corresponding graded multiplicity problem in terms of specializations of the Schur Q-functions and a shifted q-hook formula. In addition, we provide a bijective proof for a formula of the principal specialization of the Schur Q-functions.
